This vid really has me missing the beacon run. I also can't believe I can't swing 1 of these RatDog shows but such is life right now. Hopefully I'll be able to make up for not a noneventful spring with some of the good summer shows coming up but I sure do miss the beacon atmosphere.

This might be a little preview of what the folks heading to Wannee might see. Enjoy.

That is awesome! Herring sitting in as well for 4 tunes is sweet as well. That must have been a fun, fun show to attend.

I hope you get Warren sitting in with WSP this weekend! I am a huge Panic fan and I am going to see them in cincy>chicago next week so please post a report after your show. I would love to hear about it! Have fun and be safe....

I too am hoping that Warren shows up tonight with panic....some years back I saw Warren play with Panic at the beacon....I was sitting in the aisle and Warren was standing right next to me near the end of the show so I figured he was going to be playing..sure enough he came on stage for a few songs at the end of the set and it was great....hoping for a repeat tonight...to me,pretty much anyone Warren plays with sounds great...I know a lot of people think Warren is a bit over exposed but to me wenever he shows up it enhances the show big time!

highly likely Warren w/ WSP. If Jimmy was already in town, several of the Panic ffolkes were probably at Ratdog. glad they could get out and enjoy an evening of music in the Big Apple.

Why in the world would Weir sing that song while Warren is on the stage??? Bob's voice makes me cringe on most songs. Some people don't like Phil Lesh's voice, but at least he sings in tune. The music was very good, but Bob has to add a vocalist to his band. At least Phil adds a talented vocalist like Warren, Joan Osbourne, and Jakie Green when he tours and gives them the lion's share of lead vocals.

That is the craziest thing I've ever read. People who think/feel this way need to reevaluate! Warren's the man. The man lives to play.

Sounds like a KILLER RD show last night. Makes me wish I had about $50 million and lived in NYC so I could see every show I desired. Something about that city brings out the best in everyone, band and fan.

All you heading to Wannee, enjoy!
peace.

Jezus Pete, you gotta relax Dude lol!...Why would Bob sing? Because it's his band. Phil hires a vocalist because he really needs one, Bob does not. Bob has been a lead vocalist for many years and lots of the songs he sings are his songs that he has been singing for a very long time. Phil Lesh has never been a true lead vocalist except for just a handful of tunes. Believe it or not, outside of this site there are people who maybe don't like Gregg's voice or Warren's or Dickey's either but hey, that's they way it goes.Bob's voice may not be everyones cup of tea, but he still very capable to my ears and he has a great band behind him.

I don't really think there are too many people think that and if they do they are crazy. Nobody is more respected in the Jam scene than Warren and he gets ASKED to play a lot because he has shared his own stage with countless muscians and they are simply returning the favor. "Paying it forward", as the saying goes. Obviously, people really like him and admire him. Warren is a great guy with a huge heart. If Warren is guilty of anything at all, its being too darn nice and too darn talented for his own good.

Peace

Don't take it personally, it's just my opinion. I used to think Bob's voice was ok back in the day singing his songs, the ones that were written for him. At this stage his voice just seems out of tune to me and it's painful to watch him try to hit any kind of high note. At least get someone else to sing the Jerry tunes. The band still sounds pretty good to me and I'm sure I'm gonna stick around to see them at Mountain Jam even though I don't like Bob's vocals. My preference is still Phil & Friends. Just my opinion.

Would never take it personally my friend - unless of course you made fun of MY singing voice.
...Warren played, Bob sang - works for me.

Phil and Friends is also my preference as well, by a lot in fact...but, I still dig Bob and The Dog too. Different vibe but still cool.

I had a email this morning from a buddy who was @ the show, and confirmed that the security was a nightmare the entire show. He said people were getting tossed out left and right and that the security was walking thru the crowd all night long pulling people out for joints left and right. I haven't been to the Beacon in 2 years, so this is weird to be hearing.... I heard other than that it was a great gig.

Didn't anyone watch all 16 minutes? Warren sang a majority of the song.

Watched it again and yes Warren does sing some. His singing made it better but still something off. I don't really care for the sax. Not that the guy playing sounds bad, I just don't think he fits in with the music. Strange because I love when Branford Marsalis sits in with the Dead on 'Live Without A Net'.

Man some of you guys are a little picky, no? So is it the sax? Bob's singing? The vibe???
My guess is you just don't like Ratdog in general. OKay so no big deal, you don't care for them.

That sounded like a hell of jam to me and judging by the folks in the audience they were really getting off on it. Isn't that what music's all about anyway? Bob Weir and Warren on the same stage playing a cool Dead song. Pretty much win, win if you ask me.

Just wott I said last summer.

I DLed the Syracuse show, pretty good, maybe because Bob didn't do hardly any "Jerry songs".

It's bad enough he sings Sugaree and Touch of Gray.

I'll be climbing a tower with a high powered rifle if he does "Must Have Been the Roses".
