I called Cains today to talk to them about disabled access for the Gov't Mule show on 4/29. I was told that they could not guarantee that they could accommodate me. What a load of **** . They did before in 2005. It is a sad day. I am not going to go down there and not be able to see anything. I don't know how to get a hold of GM.

Tyler, is this a General Admission show?? If so, the good peole will/should let you be up front. I can not understand why this establishment wouldn't have a small space for you or better yet, I say we call them and write "hardhead" so you can be ON THE STAGE!!! That's what I think!!!!!!

They said it was because it is a historic venue. What does that mean?

Could mean that the building and the seating has not been modified for wheelchair access. But that does not mean you could not be on stage.

This is the same place I saw them for the first time. They told me then all I had to do was come down to tulsa and they would get me right up against the stage.

Tyler - this may be a historic venue but I would be surprised if legally they were allowed to hold shows that did not take into consideration disabled access. I'm no lawyer but I thought that this was a legal responsibility for any type of public place. Did you ask to speak with someone in charge and explain your past experience with the venue? Good luck! You need your Mule!!!

Jhawker...
I can appreciate your dilemma...my best friend and fellow mule fan is in a wheelchair...we went in 2005 and the crowd parted like the red sea for us. We were not askin folks either...we got there a little late for my tastes and had settled for a place to the right of the stage about 30ft back...Between the opener and the mule, my buddy and I were invited, no, insisted into coming right up to the front. I am with you, with gas so $$$, its a gamble to drive all that way and then have a $hitty experience...but I think I'd gamble on it for the mule. I wonder if anything has actually changed since 2005...i dont recall havin a policy in place back then...?

Who knows, we may see you there! Good luck.

It was the same for me in 2005. We got there just as the doors opened and the guy at front said go any where you want. We had a great experience because I was right up against the stage. I am surprised I didn't see you. It was packed though. Thanks for your thoughts.

I know it's easy for me to say , but JHawker , I'd bet anything people smart enough to be at a Mule show would show some respect for a fellow fan with special needs . Screw the venue management ! Go to the show , then let the rest of us know how it went .

send a message to the Mule about the issue.

Like others have said, I would think the patrons would help you.

But that is not the answer your looking for.

I would think the venue "should accommodate you"

Now you check your PM's!!

I called and made sure he would help you down to the front. No need to know my complete story but I got through to him! Hehehe!

He said that doors open at 7 PM but that you should be there at 6 PM. He said when he sees you, he will help you. His name is Brad and he is the manager!!!

You get your tickets and go enjoy!!!

Thak you Sue. You beat me to the punch-I can be very 'strong' on the phone! It did not make sense to me that they could not or would not help. I bet Tyler just got a lazy person on the phone (and if it was the same Brad guy, he should be ashamed of himself).

I want to thank every one for their help today. Eric, since you entered for me and I did too, I don't have a chance at winning the tickets. That is OK though. You meant well and are a true friend. I will just buy them. Thanks again. I haven't read My pm's yet. I seem to think I might have a big thank you to my sister Sue! Let me read them and come back.

Sue is the greatest. She actually called Cains and got through to the mgr, Brad. I now just have to get my tickets and be there at 6pm and will be taken to the front. Sue, I know I already said it to you, but every one else needs to know. Sue IS THE GREATEST. I LOVE MY SISTER SUE. I AM NOW THE HAPPIEST PERSON IN THE WORLD.
