I can't beleive it! It's late in March and a foot of snow is expected in the Chicago area! I'm so fed up, that I feel like moving down South! Idon't ever remember it being this bad with snow in the beginning of Spring!

I hope it isn't headed this way.

Thank God that it only rained the last few days here otherwise there would be over a foot more and I have plenty already.

Damn cold out today so the world is all frozen again.

Safe driving everyone. I hit some black ice last night and slid for quite a bit with no control. Funny how those few seconds till you regain control seem like hours.

I'm in Midwest, also and totally agree about this being an exceptionally sh***y Winter cold and snow wise. I'm glad to report that the recent stuff missed us (but sorry to hear you're getting hit). Re: not remembering this much snow in the beginning of spring, I can remember an April in 1970 or 71 (I think) when we received something like 18 inches in one snow.

Yep, and I'm about to drive home in it - 40 miles - from the part where it's bad to the part where it's getting hit the hardest.

Good thing I have a new "book on tape."

C-ya!

You just never know what the weather will do till about the 2nd week of May. We once had 18 inches here in Mass on April 1st and that's no joke! We've had snow in May many years ago too.

It's enough already but all I ask is don't send it my way! They say we are borderline to get it but it may stay far enough out to sea not to be a problem!

We got almost nothing in the south suburbs - it's already gone - had maybe one inch at Oakbrook (west burbs, where I work). Roads were fine on the way home - no problems.....

It wasn't bad, actually. A lot of people stayed home today because of the storm warning, and everything in Cook County was clear. The last 15 or so miles were bumber to bumber (rollin' up highway 41), but we were moving at a brisk 15 mph or so . . . beats standing still.

Since I got out of the city so quick, my overall travel time was basically the same as it would have been on a normal day.

That's too funny Dave, I was born and raised rural farm country Ohio, in N. Fla since '84.

And to all who are fed up with the snow this year...it ain't all peaches and cream weather wise down here, ever live in very high humidity, most of the time. I am not kidding the heat here in N Fla combined with the humidity we have...it gets 90 + degrees pretty early in the day and stays that way until way after dark...that gets old sometimes trust me.

94 turns into 41 shortly after entering Lake County, although I'm sure you know that. Taking the Edens Spur to the tollway (294) would cost a buck a day, and takes me several miles further west then I need to be. It comes back East by the time it gets to Grand Ave., but 41 is basically a straight shot north. It's 55 mph most of the way through, and there are only about 5 lights. In the morning, taking 41 into 94 is DEFINITELY quicker than taking 294 to 94, especially now with the "widening" project. It should be sweet when it's through, though.

Ok, that's sorta what I thought. You're right, I do know about 94>41, after all I'm from Mundelein A lotta times I would take 41 to 60 or 176 to save a toll or 2 I didn't know about the widening thingy, from where to where? How many lanes now 5, 6, 7?

Here in northeast VT we had five feet of snow and this latest storm just dumped 16 inches more. I remember we got a total of 37 inches one April. Once our water pipes froze and didn't thaw out till June 3rd. Right now the temp is 7 degrees. I guess my wife's new Easter bonnet better have ear flaps!! Darn that dumb global warming.LOL.
