Hey..Its me the swedish dude..Dickey plays a festival just an hour car drive from my home..i live in sweden but close to norway and he is playing there in mid may.I last saw Dickey betts live in New orleans on my first ever trip to America in september 2004 and thehole band was in fine form..i havent heard him live since then..how is he now compared to 2004 and the dvd from that year??

You're never gonna know unless you go. Reports on Dickey shows over the last few years have been very mixed. More often than not, he is on, and you will experience a great show. However there have been reports of him walking onstage so drunk that it sounded like the band was playing three different songs............until after the intermission when Dickey came back sober. With as few chances as you get in Sweden to see a legend like Dickey Betts, I would not hesitate to be there.

I would definitely go. Like robslob says, sometimes it's a mixed bag, but I have been fortunate to see DB & GS in really fine form the last couple of times.

At first I thought the title of this thread was "Dickey Betts lives in Norway" and I thought "wow that's a crazy commute!"

I'll be there. Booked my flight the other day. Havn't seen Dickey play since the Beacon in 98 and I've never seen him with Great Southern. Can't wait!
