Dave I know I spoke to you earlier this month about a new show here in the states. It is called Paranormal State. A group of Penn State students who investigate cases. This was the latest one from Monday.

In this case a teenage girl is haunted by visions of another teenager named Emily who visits her in the night. She is able to sketch the girl and give fine details about her appearance to the investigative team. In the end she learns a lot more. Click to watch

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

What channel is Paranormal State on??

This new season of Ghost Hunters hasn't done much for me, although they finally got on track this past week. Leave it to a site near Ghettysburg to get 'er done, with the boot steps and the picture frame.

VIDEO: Arcade 'ghost' caught on camera?

Louise Russell

01Apr08

THE so-called `ghost of Adelaide Arcade' has been captured on film for the first time, it has been claimed.

Adelaide Arcade promotions consultant Sharon Leaney provided the City Messenger with the eerie surveillance footage, where a man-like, burst of light, randomly appears and disappears.

Click HERE to see the video. (http://www.citymessenger.com.au/article/2008/04/01/4394_city_news.html) The video should open in QuickTime.

``It's been on the surveillance cameras for quite a few days,'' Ms Leaney said.

``We have had lots of reports of people hearing footsteps, going cold, but this (film) is the first time I've ever seen anything.''

According to legend, the Adelaide Arcade ghost is its former caretaker Francis Cluney.

Adelaide Arcade was built in 1885 and was the first mall in Australia to have electric lighting which proved tragic for Cluney.

One night in June, 1887, he was investigating a flickering light and accidentally fell into the generator. His body was found shortly after.

Adelaide Arcade's resident clairvoyant, Joan Lesley was quoted in the Sunday Mail in 2004 as saying she saw Francis ``every day''. She could not be contacted this afternoon (Wednesday, April 2).

Ms Lesley reportedly said she also saw two more ghosts; one called Ken, Francis' friend, and another woman.

Police investigator recalls ghost voice Recordings made at the Raymond fire station are cited as evidence.

By Charles McCarthy / The Fresno Bee

A Fresno Police Department crime scene investigator says he recorded a disembodied voice while on a weekend ghost hunt in an old fire station in Raymond -- but skeptics say it's just pseudo-scientific nonsense.

Mickey Burrow and seven other hobbyists operating under the name Pacific Haunting Investigations spent Saturday night in a historic fire station in the foothills community. According to local folklore, it is haunted by a ghost named Homer.

Burrow and his team brought along video cameras, electromagnetic detectors, long-range thermometers and other equipment. Burrow said Thursday that he heard strange tapping sounds and voices -- including at least one captured on a voice recorder.

Burrow said he was alone in the pitch-dark basement when he asked out loud to no one in particular whether Homer wanted him to turn on the light. He said he recorded a response that sounded like: "I'll turn on the light."

Burrow said he was startled, but he kept talking and explained that he was just there to help others understand. Then he said he captured the same voice as it replied: "OK."

But such recordings are highly suspect, said Richard Moore, one of the founders of the Central Valley Alliance of Atheists and Skeptics.

Moore said the fact that Burrow was alone means that even if he has a recording of a voice, there's no way to tell scientifically whether it was recorded at the time and location Burrow maintains.

And if Burrow could show that the recording was made in the basement during the ghost hunt, it would still take an independent analysis of the recording "to remove the bias of the observer" and determine what the sound is, Moore said.

Moore, who said his group has about 30 members, said there is no evidence that devices like Burrow's electromagnetic field detector, motion sensors or night-vision video recorder can detect paranormal activity.

At the nonprofit Center for Inquiry in Amherst, N.Y., senior research fellow and author Joe Nickell said he has been involved for nearly 50 years in investigating folklore and legends.

"There is no scientific evidence, not any, that ghosts exist," Nickell said. "Not one ghost has ever been authenticated by mainstream science."

Burrow said he needs more time to examine electromagnetic readings and other data collected on the ghost hunt.

"We have not disproved that there's a haunting there," Burrow said.

Some of these shows are pretty interesting. I have watched a few the past couple weeks. TAPS is the name of one show I have seen. I thought they were on SciFi but I see they are on A&E also. Growing up I had a friend that lived on a big farm. There were many old abandoned houses around their property. When we were in our teens, we would hike to all of them. I remember they scared us to death. The sight of those old houses when we walked up to them always gave us the feeling somebody was watching us. The house that always scared me the most was the one you could see way across their field. You could just see the upstairs window through the trees. We swore we could always see someone looking out at us. The feeling thee shows give you while watching was the same feeling we had exploring those old places.

Another spot here in our county which is long gone is the old Lincoln Academy. All the old dorms were still standing while in High School. We use to run out there on the weekend nights and scare the girls. Hell, we were scared too. The dorms were 4-5 storys, weeds grown high, trees growing through the roof. Very run down, shakey, watch where you step type buildings. A murder that happened there in the late 60's where they tired a girl to a tree and killed her added to the mystic too.

We saw the Peacheaters at John Stones Inn. They called the gig "Haunted Peach!"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqysvjIZztQ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxNfojvEQkw

From the website

History of Stone's Public House

It's creepy here late at night, when the only light sneaks through the windows from the streetlights outside and the upper floors creak and settle in for the long night. The faces in the paintings on the second floor seem to follow you wherever you walk, and John Stone's scowl can be felt even when you turn your back to his portrait above the tavern fireplace. Doors seem to open and close at times for no reason. Glasses have been known to fly off the shelf or shatter to bits without provocation. Both employees and guests have felt hands on their necks or sensed an unseen presence behind them. But is it really haunted?

Stone's Public House was built in 1834 by John Stone, who called his business the Railroad House. John was a farmer and a captain in the militia, but he was also a savvy businessman, owning most of the land in the center of what was then called Unionville. When he heard that the railroad was to be built through the center of town (on his own land) he decided to build a hotel right alongside the tracks. The Railroad House (the property also included a barn and a cow-yard and later a home for his family) opened on September 20, 1834 , to an enthusiastic crowd of (some say) 300 people.

John operated the Railroad House for less than two years (though he continued to live on the property), then leasing it to a long list of innkeepers. John died in 1858, and W.A. Scott bought the business in 1868.

Over the years the building fell into disrepair and disrepute. The man credited with helping to return the building to its former glory is Leonard "Cappy" Fournier, who bought the building in 1976. Cappy is also the man credited with first exploring the paranormal side of the building.

From a newspaper article in 1984:

Bizarre happenings at John Stone's Inn "began seven years ago when Fournier bought the old inn" with doors that will not remain bolted and lights that turn themselves on. A number of psychics
and mystics poured through the 152-year old inn sniffing out spirits after Fournier went public about strange events at the inn five years ago.

While Fournier said the stories of each expert vary wildly, they all detected one thing in common. "When I bought them to the upstairs function room they all felt the strangest feelings in the back half of that room," he said. "Every single one said the same thing in that upstairs room. That's what made a believer out of me."

All the psychics perceived more than one spirit, mostly sullen male phantoms, Fournier said. Las week psychic Lee Sonnenfeld had the same peculiar sensation. A drunkard named Burt Philips may have died at the inn during the 1890s, she said. Now, Philips' spirit refuses to leave the inn because it enjoys the atmosphere there.

Whoever the spirit is, assistant manager Butch Adams said he won't be caught dead at the inn alone at night. One night while finishing floors in the building, Adams said he became scared, very scared. "For no apparent reason" a handful of birdseed fell through holes in the ceiling, rattling to the floor where he was working.

According to Fournier, bartenders are constantly telling of water taps that turn themselves on, and patrons have reported being tapped on the shoulder only to turn around and find no one behind them.

Also from 1984, an article about Ralph Bibbo, a professional hypnotist and founder of ECHO (Education Concerning a Higher Order), who visited the inn:

After several sessions, Bibbo said he has finally been able to unearth the ghastly tale that has kept between six and seven spirits roaming the inn for nearly 140 years.

After speaking to several of the spirits, including a chambermaid named Sadie, Bibbo said he was told that John Stone accidentally killed a New York boarder, Michael, after he accused the visitor of cheating in an upstairs card game that netted him $3,000.

The year was reportedly 1845. Bibbo said six or seven of the persons who witnessed the murder and helped Stone bury the body in the basement were bound together in secrecy to the owner ? even in the spirit world. In one video-taped session in which Stone reluctantly entered the body of ECHO member Terry Pendleton, Stone angrily told the crowd watching the session to "get out of here. I want you off my premises!" Bibbo's theory is so convincing to Fournier that he is allowing Bibbo to dig up the basement in search of the phantom body. "I know we'll find a skeleton," Bibbo said. "It may take a couple more sessions to figure all this out, but we'll find it."

That old building looks sweet, it's rarely we get to go to places like that, one of the reasons being that pubs and venues usually don't close till late, and a proper hunt is really hard.

Did you guys see the last 2 taps episodes? in the last one the EVP they caught (if true) is mindblowing. Not just for it's interaction , but for what she says and it's implications.

it's here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VCWXHLHF3M

And it was cool how the secound venue seemed really lousy after !

The one before was good too, with the flashlight incident.
