10th row?

In which section?

The pit is 8 rows deep there, and reaaaalllllly wide. So, a 100 or 104 B seat isn't very good.

After getting 6th row pit last year, this year I ended up with 102 W. I'm not thrilled with dropping back 23 rows, but I'm glad I could stay in the center. I'm not a fan of 100 or 104 in that place.

Hell, I'm just glad I got in the lower section. Nothing but 200's available for the first 20 minutes of the presale.

That is what you think. But the seating chart is deceiving. The pit does cover the front rows and if you go too far left in the pit you are far outside the area where the band sets up. So if you count the 8 rows of pit tickets and the row ten that you believe, you are really 18 rows back. Not horrible but certainly shabbier than you think.

With all the confusion caused by an inappropriately pictured seating chart, Camden can keep their tickets imho.

The side sections can be pretty rough if you are further to the side than middle of the row. Single digit seats in the 100 & 104 sections should be pretty good. With aisle seats in BB, you should have a fine view and ok sound. I was fooled by the double digit seats and sat far to the side in 104 row AA a few years ago and it sucked BAD. But I think your aisle seats will be pretty ok. I tossed row 104 row A today because they were all the way against the far left wall. Although they are 8th row, they are truly sucky seats, with Gregg's Hammond blocking the view.

They always do.

Remember the good old days before any pre-sale gimmicks. They started selling from the front to the back, first come first serve. I guess that was too fair. Not blaming the ABB in any way because they didn't start this.

Well, I just EM'd their customer service.

I feel this was misleading business practice.

The seat chart I used when ordering tickets did not even sho the AA /BB rows, so I

ASSumed.

I get mad when people help me feel like an ass, I do well enough on my own, thank you....

The current state of ticketing is very disappointing and frustrating. Resellers are buying up and exponentially inflating prices, TicketMaster and similar are auctioning off the best seats. Local GA venues now have VIP entrances, where you too can pay 10 - 25 extra get in an hour or so before everyone else……and I learned something new today.

I was solicited by a salesperson from Live Nation about the possibility of my company purchasing season passes at one of their venues. You guessed it, they hold a chunk of their best seats only for season pass holders (big companies, big money).

sigh

That has been going on for quite a while Rhonda. Any company with corporate boxes or seats are obligated to purchase all events in the buildings.

During many shows the boxes will be empty because the companies don't want to pay the expenses of catoring or service. At a couple of shows, my friends and I just enter and watch from them if the view is better. At one show, we even got served and the tab was charged to whatever company had the box. We tipped well that night.

Bird I am sorry that you didn't know this info about Camden. You can sell your tickets no worries, you just have to lay out the money for a while. I know what you are going through. That is why the state of the insdustry is so bad. Instead of giving people the proper information, they mislead us.

I actually think you will do fine if you try to get something again but know the seating chart better. There will be a Live Nation Presale and a RatDog presale and you can get in on both. Sign up for Live Nation, they finally allow people to sign up for venues and locations outside of their home zip code. Also ratdog presale info can be found on ratdog.org

Then as the date gets closer you can sell those tickets on craig's list or on various web sites like this one and the Ratdog board or the phil zone.

Regardless, if the seats are center even if they are further back they are decent enough for people to see as generally people sit at this venue and the rows go up in height as you go back.

But I do feel for you becasue imagine my surprise when I got a pit ticket and it was so far to the left I LEFT the seat and floated around till I found one I could sit in to get a decent view last year. (When you are by yourself it is easier to move around.)

Camden and a lot of the sheds have misleading seating charts. And that isn't only true for the larger places. I just bougt three single tickets that I had to return to MT because I was using a bad seating chart and no seating chart for some up coming Mule Tickets. Thankfully Music Today, i guess seeing the thousands of dollars I've spent on Mule, figured it was better to have me happy than to feel mislead. So, also see if MT will help you out there. (they may not but it's worth a try) Tell them to help you find a better set of seats, so that it isn't just a void of the sales. If you're nice, sometimes they are very, very helpful. If they don't you will be able to sell them.

Somethings only become clear later. I did eat lots of hot dogs though. The server was also amazed at how much beer a few guys could drink.

If you do resell Musictoday tix, you should know that the tix usually arrive only 2 wks or so before the show. My Mule tix from them last fall came about 3 weeks ahead, but my NYE Soul Stew tix, that I was reselling (here, at cost of course), only came about a wk ahead.

Well, if you can sell them there go ahead.

But I don't think everyone else is. Just fyi on that.

I personally have bought tickets for more than face, but have never sold one that way because most of the time I do get the band's allocation of seats. Since I am a big mouth complainer, I feel I have to keep some ethics about the whole thing.

Personally, from my perspective, even the few fans that sell above face contribute to the entire mess. Not that I know you will sell them above face or even that you can cause I just think there are still plenty of tickets to be had so I believe the market for summer isn't here yet. But I am sure you will do what you may.

Ang

Well, I've never sold concert tickets on ebay. Sold quite a bit of vintage Firebird parts. It really comes more down to math than ethics.

If I am forced to pay ebay prices for MY seats, why shouldn't I recoup part of that with selling my extra crummy seats on ebay?

Also, I have sold more than a couple of things on ebay at a loss or way below value. I never put minimum prices. I figure it is worth what it sells for on any given day. My risk on tickets is selling at half cost, it works both ways.

Kirk West was on here a bit ago somehow hinting that $150.00 Gold Circle seats were a wanted and desireable new option being offered to, yes, the fans.....

90% of those seats are in scalpers hands, for ethical indignities, go there......

For ethical indignities, stand up and complain why crummy seats are in presales.

For ethical indignities, why isn't anyone looking up these ticket broker owners and picketing in front of their fancy homes?

No, I'm so far down the food chain of bad ethics, like a little feeder fish in a sea of sharks.....

AND, if Ticketmaster, WITH the bands approval is auctioning tickets....

I would think it MUST be with a bands approval that blocks of tickets are now auctioned. TM probably strongarmed the bands in contracts, but what is band cut of $1200 ticket? (I would expect a sliding proportional scale based on auction price) Which when you cut to the chase, is the band itself selling high dollar tickets. In my groovy little hippie mind, I hate to even think that way. Maybe they only do get a regular price cut of a $1200 ticket, not an extra $500 or whatever. Why am I the only one that marvels and wonders about this stuff?

why shouldn't I?

Splain it Lucy
