What's not to like? A lot of my friends were asking if I had seen or heard Jeff Beck's bass player. Then I watched the DVD and now I have a better understanding:

I had not heard of her before I got the Crossroads DVD- wow. I since learned that she sat in w/ the Bros. at the Beacon last year on Liz Reed. Any witnesses as to how that was?

Her website says she played with the ABB 3/22 last year on Eliz Reed. Anybody remember that? I don't remember any chatter here about that. But I was sleep deprived in March (start planning now for May...) so maybe I just missed it.

i was at that show and it was two years ago. It was the last number of the night-about 45 minutes counting the drums. The crowd was going crazy and she was smaller than the bass. I had taken a friend who had never seen an ABB show and he is still talking about her. When I cranked out the Jeff Beck section of crossroads and he saw her he was amazed. Anyhow, she was amazing. Last her I heard this kid named Vince Esquire play One Way Out and Statesboro at the Beacon show. I havnt heard much since but he rocked the place.

Actually I think it was '06. I remember seeing this little girl come out at the end of the drum solo. My wife and I were like, "She can't be more than 14 years old." I prepared to be underwhelmed. But she completely RIPPED! Everybody was talking about it on the way out. We strolled across Broadway to catch a post-show burger at Big Nick's. The host seated right next to Brian Farmer and 2 friends. I asked Farmer who the chick bass player was and he told me it was Tal. I asked what her deal was and he said she was a friend of Oteil and "if he let her play the solo, she must be pretty good."

Glad to see she's getting some attention. She's a natural talent.

Yeah, 2 years ago Tal was 22 and looked like a teenager. But she doesn't play like a teenager.

There is just so much to enjoy on that Crossroads DVD. I'm still sinking my teeth into it. My favorite for today is "Anyday" with The Trucks Band and Susan. The DT slide, the harmonies. Ahh, yes.

John Mayer was another pleasant surprise.

Where is Crossroads going to be this year?

I had heard of Tal for several years. She is truly a great musician. And anyone who plays with Beck is one of the best.

Now Jon Mayer may get a lot of crap from a lot of people, but "Gravity" is one of the greatest new blues songs ever written....

Okay..flame me.....

WOW! I don't know you, but you seem to have a pretty good sense of humor.
That being said, I really hope you are kidding about the above statement.

She actually came to the states as a guitar player. When she saw there we're so many, she switched to bass. She kicks butt, is young and will come into her own. She has her own band and is one to watch. I loved her and Beck. Awesome!!!!
