O.k., here goes. I'm NEVER right about this stuff, but: 1. We have a confirmed date of 7/4/08 for Derek/Susan & SSR at Summerfest in Milwaukee, 2. We have Gov't Mule playing 7/3-7/6 Rothbury Festival Rothbury, MI (not far from Milw.), 3. ABB, Mule, DTB, and Oteil & The Peacmakers played Summerfest together on 7/5/05, 4. Summerfest has announced several headliners for the main stage (including Winwood & Petty on 7/5), but nothing so far for 7/4.

So, I'm going to forward some optimistic speculation (and maybe I'll be right this time) and say that we are getting ABB, Mule, SSR, and possibly Oteil & the Peacmakers 7/4/08 at the Marcus Ampitheatre, Summerfest grounds. Wisconsin & Chicago area fans, what do you think?

If that's true, then I will be moving to Chitown!

Only thing I know for sure is the Allman Brothers Band are the slowest act in history announcing annual tour plans. We might know by May!!

I was looking over the Summerfest site yesterday when I heard that Derek and Susan were going to be there and wondered about the lack of scheduling for 7/4 at the Marcus. Especially wondered about scheduling with the Rothbury dates already announced. If ABB ends up on line-up at Summerfest 7/4 I may have to re-think my plans for celebrating Independence Day this year.

I thought the same thing yesterday!

That Oteil>DTB>Mule>ABB show at Summerfest was awesome that year! I think Manic Depression, Sahib Terri (spelling?), Feelin' Alright>Sad and Deep as You and Black Hearted Women all stood out as my favorites from each band that day.....plus Dave Mason sat in with Mule!

Man I hope this happens!

The July 5, 2005 Oteil and the Peacemakers > Derek Trucks Band > Government Mule (with Dave Mason Guesting) > Allman Brothers Band (w/Larry McCray guesting) show at Summerfest was definitely one of my best "all around" music days. Plenty of highlights.

A repeat or approximate repeat of that would be very cool indeed.

Oh, and not happy with my GA seat, I sold it for 7 bucks to a kynd older dude and upgraded to a single in THE THIRD ROW for 35 Dollars!

yeah the GA at that venue might be the worst anywhere....I am going that route for Rush and T Petty though just so I can attend the show and not spend hundreds of dollars...........
