he's playing philly on june 1 at the mann music center. it's a beautiful ampitheatre with great lawns, restaurants and twinkly lights. i'm buying the $20.00 lawn seats and taking my two youngest (5 and 12) for a nice girls night out.

Yes I too saw JT on PBS. I love PBS it's come a long way since Julie Child and Allister Cooke. Just curious I am in Fl., PBS, is it nationa. Do we all see the same show no matter where we are?

my sister is 12 years older than i...actually her birthday is in a few days & she'll be 51, wow... anyway, one of her all time faves is james taylor, always was. much of my musical early years was influenced by her. when i was in kindergarten, she gave me jt's greatest hits album for Christmas! an odd gift for a 5 year old, but even then i really loved music & i played that record for years & will always have a soft spot of his songs! i would defnitly go see him if he comes through my area! if ya get a chance, go & enjoy!

Love James live! He always has some outstanding musicians with him and is so humble but personable...great sense of humor. Last time I saw him (last summer) he had a couple of vocalists with him who absolutely kicked a**. Enjoy the show with your girls, Jacquie - sounds like fun!

John, he's playin Verizon in charlotte on Thur 5/29! Tics went on sale last week tho! Tru story last time he played there 4 or 5 yrs ago. concert was sold out. they had several bad wrecks on I-85 north of Charlotte around 3:30 that afternoon just in time for rush hour traffic + a sold out concert. Took us 2 hours to go from Greenwood Sc ( upstate) to motel ( 1mile from venue). they reouted traffic off I-85 to us29 and us 49 ( front and back entances to verizon) took an hour and half to go 1 mile to show. Missed first three or four songs, heard them from parking lot as we were making our way in. Cool as JT is though, he did play "Damn This Traffic Jam" late in first set in honor of the night's adventures. One of only a few sellouts I've ever witnessed @ Verizon, the others all being Jimmy Buffett shows!

What a good performance he did. I didn't know how funny he was. I think I zonked out before the end but well worth the time if PBS re-runs it (chances are good for that)....well it's naptime now.

Mud Slide Slim is a great great album, imo. A classic.

As time went on his recordings seemed to get a lot "slicker" and more popish to my ears and I kinda lost interest. But I love the early James Taylor stuff.

One of my fav tunes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSSqnBfgBsQ

and this because I was born and raised in the Berkshires and his paints such a clear picture that it reminds me of my childhood. I now live 2 hrs west of the Berkshires and if I had the opportunity I would go back and live there again.
