I really love The Raiders music A bunch! I just got Their Midnight Rider album the other day! It has the song Kicks and Louis Go Home! All the other songs on the album are awsome! Other song I love by the Raiders are Hungry,Too Much Talk,Let Me,The Great Airplane Strike, Louis Louis, Like Long Hair and Indian Reservation! I heard Mark Lindsay owns his own restaurant that is really famous! The raiders are still touring today!

Was a fan back in the 60's and like hughduty watched them all the time on Where The Action Is. And as I recall, us gals thought Mark Lindsey was a real hottie!

..smiled when I saw the thread title, so i had to chime in.
During their hayday it also the Yankees dark ages, so the Yankees, during Double Headers (remember those?) would have some featured attraction to help draw crowds.
PR&TR were one of these acts. They would come out, do a couple/few songs and be gone. They were pretty good for our taste at the time, and can be looked back on fondly.
They would also do quick appearances at local Movie theatres where they would run in...get up on stage...wave, and run back out into the waiting bus.
Might as well mention the Dave Clark 5 too, who were similar, andwould do the same routine to promote the band.

I just loved Paul Revere and the Raiders when I was in 5th grade, had several albums and saw them once at a WVOK Shower of Stars show in Birmingham. lolasdeb is right, we did consider Mark Lindsey to be a hottie!

I enjoyed these guys back in the day before I moved on to heavier fare, but I'll have to be the first to say that I'm no Mark Lindsay fan.
I had the misfortune of working a package show as a support musician back in the mid 80s with him and The Grass Roots and the only thing good I can say about him is that the only performers that I've ever met in my life that were bigger asses than him are Rob Grill of the Grass Roots and Hank Jr.
Not sure how he and Rob Grill we actually able to get into the same room together.
He really put the old saying about choosing your heroes carefully into perspective for me.

They stay at the Dick Clark Theater in Branson, Mo most of the time these days. I saw them there two years ago. Holy smokes at the energy Paul (and the band) still has. He was 66 then I believe so he must be close to 68. A WHOLE lot of that cheesy Branson Senior citizen humor I could have done without though. Bill Medley's son fills the Mark Lindsey role now. Paul opened for Bill They play an amazing string of hits. Didn't realize they had so darn many. "Mr.Sun Mr.Moon" was always on of my favorites.

Had to chuckle when I saw this thread. boy this goes back a long long way. This is when I went from prepub tween, Cowsills, Monkey's, Tommy Roe, and "Oh Sweet Pea". Whoa nelly, come on back in to this time zone. Just "Day Dreamin", to Leslie West and Mountain, Hot Tuna, Canned Heat, and one of my all time fav's, NRPS. The New Riders of The Purple Sage and "Panama Red", "Lonesome LA Cowboy", man my 8 track and turntable where burnin em up. Hil
