Saw the Col. and gang in Gainesville a few weeks ago. Some one close to the band pointed out a new guitarist. He totally blew me away, sounded like he'd been playing with Col. Bruce for years. Definitely a fun time

Reaaally? Pray tell. The Jeff Caldwell (??) guy he had initially (and perhaps still does) didn't do it for me. Was the guitar player sort of a beach-bum looking guy with flip-flops? He had one catchy pop tune, which really didn't fit in the Bruce mold anyway, although it was a great song, but otherwise I wasn't all that impressed with his playing or songs. I know Bruce changed up his rhythm section a bit from who was playing with him when he first started the band with weekly gigs in Atlanta at Smith's Olde Bar. His current bass player (Kris Dale) in particular is quite good. Not sure who is drumming for them now.

Grant Green Jr. played with the Col. & Quark Alliance at JFD this year and there are a couple of recent shows up on Sugarmegs that he is on as well. Is he still with the band ?

It seems to me the guy doing vocals on The Den is Heaven, has been on the John Boy and Billy show a few times. I am kind of vague on it. Seems like JB&B would call and this guy would be on the answering machine giving details about his restaurant. Wonder where the restaurant is?

Rottinpeach, that is Dale from Dale's Den in Valley, Alabama! JB&B are calling up his adtalk hotline that Dale rants and raves on! One of the guys from the show actually went and found this little bar in AL. Sounds like a place to go someday????

I've seen CB & QA in West Palm Beach the last two times they were here. The last show, which was a few months ago, was just Steve Caldwell on guitar with the Col. Kris Dale on bass and Mark Letalien on the drums are excellent musicians. Both have been with him each time I have seen him within the last year.

Steve's got some pop sounding tunes that he sings, as zambi mentioned. They do kind of stand apart from the rest of the music they play. I still recommend seeing them, as they have a great groove. Col. still has that eccentric vibe about him that comes out every time I see him.

Thanks for the info. I knew I had heard his voice before. I love the song. "Hey Hey Hey"
I would love to check it out. Sounds kind of like a H&H type restaurant.

Now Who is Mudbone Stokes????? Is it a nick name for Derek Trucks??

I asked Bruce about his new guitarist and he said, "He's from Arkansas," as if that explained everything ...

Perry Osborn is the new guitar player and he lives here in Tallahassee (orginally from Arkansas). He's a great guy and I have seen him several times here in Tally sitting in with my buddies Blueground Undergrass. He teaches at Florida State. He rocks! He has played with Bruce many times.

My Blueground Undergrass friends just love Dell's Den. Haven't been there yet myself. I think they have a myspace page or a website that I have looked at before.

Great lineup! I've seen them a few times over the last several months, including JFD and Sautee Jamboree. They put on a great show! And it's always good seeing/hearing the Colonel

I noticed on the last track, Ike Stubblefield is a guest.

Its a great CD..............The vocalist sometimes sounds a little like Stevie Wonder and some tracks tend to sound a little like Bad Company. Anyone else pick up on that?
