See ya there! Gonna get a few brews at Moondog's beforehand. Come over and celebrate Bret's last night in Charlotte.

Dig Les' bass playing, but his singing is atrocious.

This is the first show of the tour.... (see below from Jambands)

quote:
Claypool Quartet Opens Tour Tonight

Les Claypool will return to the road for five weeks beginning tonight in Charlotte. Claypool will be gigging with a four piece that also consists of Mike Dillon, Skerik and Paulo Baldi. The group will draw on Claypool's catalog and also pledges to introduce some new material. The tour will route through the Midwest and on to Claypool's native Bay Area with a performance at the Warfield on April 5th. Beyond that the bassist will return to the stage with Primus at Rothbury on July 4.

I saw the Fancy Band a little while back which was similar with Gabby La La added. It was a good show, however her sitar with all of the effects got a little annoying. It should be better without her, and it will allow Les, Skerik, and Dillon to stretch it out / explore a little more.

It was a great SOLD OUT show in Charlotte last night. Good crowd. Great seeing Bret and Jay there. Last night was Bret's last night in Charlotte. He has transferred to Providence RI. We I know we will miss him at the shows. Many may know his face, but not by name. I took my son Chase with me last night. He loves Claypool. I was able to pull off a picture of him with Les.

Chase and Les

That is Bret to the Right of Devon at the Columbia show.... Good luck Bret....
Dont be a stranger. Some of you folks up north may have to show him where the good little venues are. Him and Jay, as BigDave would say are bigtime Road Dawgs......
