No Derek, but I'd go anyway! I'm going w/ Thurs though.

Winwood / Clapton: Who's Who in the Band for MSG
Former Blind Faith bandmates, Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton will perform together on 25, 26 and 28 February at Madison Square Garden. These two rock legends have put together a stellar lineup of musicians for what will certainly be amongst the "must see" shows of the decade. They will be joined on stage in New York City by Chris Stainton (keyboards), Willie Weeks (bass) and Ian Thomas (drums). Pete Townshend will not be appearing. There is no opening act. The concerts begin promptly at 8PM.

Even without Derek I am pumped. I think when I first read about this show I read something about Derek playing with them...apparently not though. I love Winwood, he can tear it up....the other guy ain't bad either!!

Hey Colin, you must be gettin' paid too much, with 70 for Neil, 100+ for Eagles, and you can still afford ?? for EC/SW at the Albert Hall! But with the money saved by not going to the Beacon, I suppose....... Probably see you at the RAH if it happens! Was hoping thet The Who would be playing there as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust annual concert run, but not this year.

I would sell my soul (almost) to go, but no way. Please let us know the set list and how fabulous it was. Can't wait to hear.

James, there was a sort of rumor about 2 mos ago on the Who site that sort of alluded to Pete joining a large show in NY before March. Did not make sense to me then, or now. Glad EC killed the rumor. There are still mid-floor seats avail on TM for tomorrow!

I may need to get that Blind Faith set myself, to listen to on the way up Wed for Thurs' show. Never seen EC or Winwood; together this was too much to resist! Should I look at the setlist tonight? Probably can't resist again.

Perhaps people thought it was going to be like another Rainbow Concert, hence the Townshend disclaimer...or it could be thrown in just to throw you off, when in actuality Ron Wood, Pete Townshend, Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood and other assorted mad scientists will be out there performing mania before your very eyes!! Hey, you can only hope. ;-) Either way, you really can't go wrong. I had the pleasure of seeing Winwood at the Jammy's a few years ago. As I recall Warren and Dickey sat in for a few tunes, but Winwood really tore the **** out of it. You have to love his voice too. I saw Clapton for the first time about 2 years ago and neadless to say I was amazed. I can't wait for tomorrow. Hopefully, i will be able to report something on Wednesday.

My buddy just called me from the show and held up the phone to "Can't Find My Way Home". I got to see SW play with The Dead in '03 or so, and the cranked out an awesome "Low Spark" - have it on my ipod. I'm sure these shows will be up for grabs, but aud. recordings from MSG usually have such an echo, it is hard to listen to for me.

Nice seats...I have a freebee ticket behind the stage. I'm going to see what I can scalp there for a better seat, and then I'll just give this one away.
