Been seeing some of the old blues masters get their very deserving props lately, but, aren't we overdue for a little Tinsley Ellis appreciation? You bet we are!

Besides, Mr. Ellis even stops by every once and awhile. How many others do that?

Whether you admire his work with The Stained Souls, The Latin Teens, or his smokin' solo band, Tinsley brings it each and every show.

And, a very sincere and nice person to boot!

Can't dish out some compliments without mentioning Tinsley's lineup. The Evil One on bass will shake your dental fillings loose, Jeff Burch on the skins (I really think he has something against drums the way he works them over) and Mike Lowery on guitar.

I have "Moment of Truth" on as I type this. It's TE's latest release. If you don't have it, get it.

Did I "Say Too Much?"

And let's not forget, the first studio work The Blonded Haired Kid contributed to was Tinsley's ('94 I think) "Storm Warning" release. Tinsley knows talent when he hears it.

Only if you keep his butt off limits...

I agree totally, Tinsley is totally under-appreciated by the world.

I first met Tinsley in 1982 playing with Chicago Bob (harp).
Harvest Moon Saloon-Atlanta, GA.
I loved him then and love him more today. Truly one of the greats
and his love for Albert K. just kills me every time!!

I saw Tinsley 3 or 4 yrs ago in a very small club in Jacksonville. I wasn't that familiar with his music and didn't know what to expect other than the fact that he was a blues man. There were probably less than 50 people there. That man played his ever lovin' heart out and completely blew me away. You'd have thought he was playing for thousands. I had so much fun that night. It's a concert I'll never forget. Tinsley Ellis is AWESOME!

I was especially fond of Tinsley's work with the Alley Cats, saw them many times. Kinda' like the Prisoners of Love, with a New Orleans flavor. If you didn't like the Alley Cats, you just didn't like music, IMHO.

Superb player, class person. Hope to see more of him this summer.

I first discovered TE in the past year and from this website.
I bought all of his CDs and really enjoy his music.

I've seen his live show once and hope to see more.
The sounds he gets out of that guitar are amazing. The show
was in a rather small venue which made it even better.
I was close enough to see his fingers moving on his guitar. WOW!!!
And he likes to tease his audience and shows off a little with that guitar.
It makes the show fun and he's got it to show off!!! I've never heard
a better guitar player than Tinsley! Wonderful show. His band is a group
of fine musicians. Gotta love "The Evil One". I think he's sweet as sugar pie.

I have the photo of Tinsley's guitar singed by him and framed beautifully.
I am really proud to have that up in my den.

I LOVE TINSLEY

Been a TE fan for several decades! First saw him back in the day, with the Heartfixers! THey and later TE with his band used to play a little blues club in Hodges Sc called Jackson Station! Old 1800's Railway station that two guys bought, moved and made into a unique ROCKIN little blues joint in the middle of nowhere. Sadly it closed years ago and now sits decaying. Many a good memory of Friday night all-nighters listening to some of the best music out there! We still catch TE every time he plays the Handlebar in Greenville SC. A year or so ago he played in support of his then new release "The Hard Way" Bought the cd at the show and had him sign it " Long live Jackson Station!" He got a big kick out of that. and we reminisced about the good old days! He's a very deserving talent who's paid his dues and brings it every time he steps on stage! Long live Jackson Station and long may you play your songs Heartfixer57!

Tinsley is the one the greatest blues-rockers out there. Great CDs and even better "live shows". Only complaint, he and his band needs to come up to my "neck of the woods" (DC/northern VA) more often.

One of my neighbors had TE's first CD back when it came out in 87 or 88 and turned me on to Tinsley.

I met Tinsley a couple years ago when he came to town and there was an ice storm that day. The club opened the doors early, I guess so we could get out of the weather.I was in there during the soundcheck, when it ended TE walked past where I was sitting and I spoke to him and he came to the table. I said "I hear you lurk the forum". We sat and talked for about 15 minutes. The best part was when he asked " What's the deal with the thread that changes titles every day?"

I know this isn't the trades forum but since we are showin Tinsley some appreciation I think the best way to do that is spread the music around so PM me for details on a B&P for who ever wants it.

Tinsley Ellis 12/8/07 Moondogs Pittsburgh, Pa.

He plays Pittsburgh at least once a year, usually twice and I never miss him.

TINSLEY ROCKS!
