Hello folks...

I don't know how many people here on HTW are familiar with the band Radiohead. I consider myself a fan of their music and I really appreciate them as artists and the way they re-invent themselves every album.

If you follow them at all, you already know that they very rarely tour, especially here in the States. Well, today they announced a string of dates that I'm excited about, because they are finally coming down South!

Here's the dates so far:

Mon 05/05/08 West Palm Beach, FL Cruzan Amphitheatre

Tue 05/06/08 Tampa, FL Ford Amphitheatre @ State Fairgrds.

Thu 05/08/08 Atlanta, GA HiFi Buys Amphitheatre

Fri 05/09/08 Charlotte, NC Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre

Sun 05/11/08 Bristow, VA Nissan Pavilion At Stone Ridge

Wed 05/14/08 Maryland Heights, MO Verizon Wireless Amph. St. Louis

Sat 05/17/08 The Woodlands, TX The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

Sun 05/18/08 Dallas, TX Superpages.com Centre

I'm a very big Radiohead fan. They're also playing some other shows later in the summer, but specific dates and venues haven't been disclosed. I imagine they'll end up at the MSG Theater here in NY and I'll do my best to get there.

I've been on them since their album "the Bends", which was an alternative radio favorite back in the day.

OK computer

I like the new record, the previous few didn't do much for me.

OK computer was a great record. as is "THe Bends"

Warren has covered some of there songs with Mule.

Waiting to see the Price at Nazi before I commit to that show.

I loved THE BENDS & OK COMPUTER when they came out, and still consider them all-time favorite albums. They are amazing. I love the new album. I liked all the other records when they came out, because they were so interesting and creative. But KID A through HAIL TO THE THEIF, although there are songs I absolutely love on there, I am not as into now as I was when they were new. They are still good though. I can also understand why people wouldn't get into them though.

I saw Radiohead at the Rosemont Theatre on the OK COMPUTER tour. It was an incredible show.

I think the Bristow tix range between $40 - $60....not too bad considering they are starting @ 7:30 & playing the whole night.

Hey, baby! Long time...
Looks like you'll maybe get a B-Day show?
I can't committ to anything until we get home from Florida and I've counted the pennies left in my pockets!
I love you, bud!

I have the new one on Vinyl. It is interesting. A bit on the Trippy side. better than
the last couple of records.

Robin Trower is a fan of Jonny Greenwood, I think he is a very inventive guitarist.
He Gets incredible sounds of it.

For those folks in the Northeast, Radiohead is expected to be a headliner at a 3-day festival held at Liberty State Park Aug. 8-10. The festival is being put on by the folks who do Cal's Coachella festival, so expect a diverse, indie-heavy lineup. Liberty State Park is a superb venue, and it's where I saw the best show of my life, Radiohead on 8-18-01 - four encores, 2.5 hours!

They are very creative musically, and Johnny Greenwood in particular is a good musician, but I will never understand how anybody can stand the sound of Thom Yorke's voice.

Like fingernails on a chalkboard to me...

imagine this presale ticketing: you buy tickets and it doesn't show you where your seats are.
there's no indication when the presale begins.
exciting, huh?

a month ago, sarah said she'd go with me, because we figured no WAY is beth going to be anything but miserable during a radiohead show. as of yesterday, beth WANTS to go, and sarah's out. sheeesh. the gratitude i get for scoring 2 sets of 4 first 6 row center wicked tickets 12 days apart...

so, yesterday i had this wonderful ABB-centric workout (i mean, i didn't think i could stay on one of those machines for an hour anymore, but two helpings or egypt, one of IASW, and the 1 -2 punch of dreams and BWIAB from 5-1-96 - wowsers!). i think i'll walk the dogs this morning and listen to a radiohead show and get that nervous existential dread feeling going on... hahahaha!
