A lot of my buddies can't stand when I play PRIMUS.
Frank Zappa as well.

ROTFLOL!!! Same here Ron. Sole, I've found that everybody who I've tried to turn onto Umphrey's McGee, which is one of my favorite bands, goes, "What the "F"?"

Rusty, I didn't begin listening to them until my buddy turned me on to Sky Blue Sky in December. All I have to say is, "Wow!" What a brilliant alubm! Something about it is reminiscent of Sergeant Pepper, and of the same calibre.

I also just saw a documentary on this new DirecTV channel called Ovation of them with Billy Bragg & Natalie Merchant doing the music of Woody Guthrie. I like seeing music being made, and there were lots of parts with them capturing the production. So I thought it was really cool.

A band that I like that no one else doesn't- I have a few.

World Party- Again- brilliant music.

Jellyfish- Queen meets Blind Melon.

Gnarls Barkeley- there is only one song that I don't like on this album. The rest is pretty wild.

Moby- Play is one of the most incredible albums ever. Great for the hibbidy dibbidy too~! Not really crazy about anything before or since, including his live renditions of music from the Play album.

Jamie Lydell- Better known as the guy who sang "A little bit more, a little bit more" on a Target commercial a few months ago, he is a phenomenal performer & has a great voice. He gets in to some very true-to-original soul music.

Frank Vignola- Yeah, I have tried to relate to everyone herel his brilliance many times this past year. But his music is very engaging, he is a virutoso guitar player in ways Steve Vai & Joe Satriani & the rest of that crew have not been able to translate to listeners, and he has paid his dues & makes no qualms about it. Currently he is the guitarist for the David Grisman Quintet, but has played for everyone from Les Paul to Madonna.

Sister sweetly is about one of the best albums out there in my small opinionated world

I am big into Bruce Hornsby, most blow him off as a guy from the 80's

They have no idea what he has done since and what he is still doing. I myself would not have thought I could sit down and listen to a solo piano concert before I saw him do just that, now I am ready for another

Couldn't agree more on the Zappa thing. I have a select few friends that "get it". Zappa has always been you love it or hate it.

Wow... Great list. I'm a huge Jellyfish fan. My wife and a lot of my friends STILL listen to them regularly. So you're not alone. Great stuff. My band has a song called "The Jellyfish Song" which is a tribute to them. Our demo version is on our website if you'd like to check it out.

Now that Dino doesn't come around anymore, I have nobody with whom to discuss the brilliance, sound and talent of Four Non-Blonds and Linda Perry in general.

I'm also rather amazed by the fact that EVERYONE's all-time favorite album list doesn't start with The Wall.

And, maybe related but maybe not, I think the best format for Mr. Haynes is "alone and acoustic."
