I was looking back at some photos of the Beacon parties that i attended and it really struck me just how lucky we all have been to be able to gather at the events these folks put together..knowing the jello shot sweeties and scotty, i can assure you that a lot of time and thier own money went into these gatherings..

I just wanted to thank them all for such wonderful memories..

Amen Bro.!
I doubt that anybody that hasn't "been there" comprehends the time, expense, and stress that goes in to pulling these things off. All done for the love of our family here.
My undying gratitude to all involved over the years.

thank YOU all for coming!! it was ABBsolutely our pleasure. we wanted to see YOU and have fun with YOU, because YOU mean the world to US and WE LOVE YOU!!

thank you to everyone who, over the years brought food, alcohol, MUSIC (and LIVE MUSIC at that!!), went out on ice runs, donated prizes and time to the auctions and helped out in any way they could to make our parties such a great success. I've said it a million times over, I am a lucky, lucky girl. I have each of you in my life and I've had the profound honor to have not only met alot of you, but am able to call so many of you my dear friends.

btw - just because we're taking a breather this year, doesn't mean it's over for good. I'm hoping that things come together in such a way that we're able to plan one for next year...fingers crossed, kids.

I couldn't have said it any better than Jacquie.

In the end, its always been a labor of love. As much fun as the parties have always been, it will be nice to be a "civilian" this year

I hope to see you on 72nd and Broadway in May.

Both Scotty and the Sweeties amaze me in the very best way! The tireless work they've put in to organize the NYC get-togethers is above and beyond and such a lovely thing because it really brings us 2D people together in a 3D way. Where else in the world does one find people like this? Don't think there's an answer for that one. Adding my thanks to Scotty and the Sweeties for spreading the love in such a memorable way. You are all the best!
(Johnny - VERY cool collage! )

I would like to state that the bottle of Aquavelva that Del and I are holding in 2006 is not the same one Heidi is holding in 2007. Del's challenge of "back to back shots" got us through the first one.

I think..

I think I'm gonna cry Ditto what Jacquie and Terri said. Definitely one of my most favorite things in life is Beacon and sharing it with everyone else from this family that feels the same way. Made all of the work completely worth it!! BEST TIMES EVER!!!

Hoping that even without the parties that we will still get to see lots of friends when we're in town. Is it Yogi-30 yet???

Yep....The Sweeties and Scotty have generously provided some wonderful memories for us all. They are a "Great Bunch"!

Many thanks to them for their efforts, without which, I wonder if we would all know each other in the real world.

Mitch

Thank you, thank you! I know first hand how much work, money and LOVE went into all that the Sweeties and Scotty and his crew did for us. Some of the best times I've had, anywhere, were at these parties.

If I never make it to another Beacon run, I'll forever cherish the memories of my Beacon 2007 adventure. Jam For The Cure, The Sweeties, The Hayseeds, all the lovely folks from this site that I met for the first time...it seems sort of surreal. Thanks for starting the thread, Lefty, and Johnny, thanks for the collage.

My favorite 'sweeties' memory was two years ago. The bash was held in one of the Beacon 'suites' needless to say--versus a 'party room'. The place was frickin' PACKED. Packed to a point that I was actually uncomfortable from a 'safety' or 'WHO concert' or 'I'm getting crunched' point of view. I literaly commented to the others in the "Ohio Delegation"--Frank & Doyle--that ...hey, we may have to clear outta here for awhile....this is getting TOO crowded. I actually moved to the little hallway by the door. MORE people entered after the obligatory 'tap, tap, tap'. I commented to an unknown chap standing next to me that..."OK, then next joker that taps on this door is either going to get decked, told to 'beat it' or perhaps if I'm smart....I'll trade places with 'em and head OUT!"

"TAP, TAP, TAP!" I said..."I'm frikin' outta here!" I open the door....I come face-to-face with one B. TRUCKS smiling at me and he says: "Is this where it's 'happening'?" Needless to say....my 'plans' were aborted and suddenly the room didn't seem a bit crowded any longer! I was actually quite comfortable! You gals deserve a respite.....and yet, as Porter Waggoner used to sing..."What is to be will be....and what ain't to be, just might happen!"

I second BigDave, as my trip to the festivities at the Beacon last year was a blast, the setup was sweet and fun and for a worthy cause, I enjoyed meeting everyone and didn't have to duck once, learned a lot about the Revolutionary War history of Central Park and loved seeing Plymouth Rock there in the Park for the first time with my awesome partner-in-crime tour guide, the hospitality overall was simply awesome, the jello shots went down smooth, and a lot of coolness has branched off from that get-together and I'm looking forward to throwing down with the Hayseeds someday in the future. They don't call me 'Jamkill" for nothing.

Perfect thread idea, Lefty!

Yes, let me add my thanks to the Sweeties and to Scotty for all of the fun I've experienced in my Beacon experiences (and even a couch to sleep on).

Y'all rock!

I love your collages, John.
