I have been kicking around the idea of signing up for the Santana membership "innersactum" (or something like that) thinking that might help me get some better seating for these now larger venues it seems we will have to visit if we're going to get to hear the band these days.

In the past I have "joined" theatre booster/support groups such as TheEgg in Albany or The Lucas in Savannah to keep up with goings ons and to have access to seating "privledges".

QUESTION: Has anyone had success getting "better" seating by being a Santana "fan" club member!?

Please Advise

Thanks

I had decent seats coming up through regular Ticketmaster sale on my 3 ticket purchase. This is the Omaha venue...don't know if that makes a difference.

hmmm... I wonder if the "odd" number of seats helped you get a little better seating? you ordered 3 huh? I know in the old days when I'd mailorder san rafael for g.d. tickets, singles and odd numbers tended to be a bit better (closer to the stage).

Well, thanks......but not thanks !! I think you've got my mind wandering & wondering even more ! !

I signed up because I was going to be buying tickets for other people in addition to myself. This was for the casino in CT. I got good seats in the presale, much better than what was coming up the day of the show. If I was simply going to be looking for a single ticket I don't think I would have bothered, single good ones did pop up during regular sale.

Don't forget you also get a cd for the money. It wasn't like some other fan club presales where the tickets were to the back of the arena. HHope this was helpful.

Well I figured if it was going to be at the casino, I'd gamble on the fan club for 25 dollars. At worst I bought an expensive cd, at best I'd get good seats, and consolation was I still had the regular sale to doublecheck for better seats. I didn't think it would be too hard to find someone who wanted tickets if I ended up with extra. As it turns out I did better with the fanclub...this was for three tickets.

If you're willing to get there early, $40 will buy you a front row seat to see Derek and Santana at Jazz Fest Not to mention the Neville Brothers, Radiators, etc.

Just a suggestion....

Yes, that is good!

Presales can go either way. I've done better with reg on sale for some venues but done better with presale for others. The Mohegan good seats normally go to the high rollers not the true fans!

I like that location. Sec 2 can be difficult because as stated the high rollers set aside. They also set aside some nice seats for their employees.

Back to the issue of fan clubs and is the money worth it. I can see how the system can be abused by scalpers because now I have access to all of the Santana presales, even those thousands of miles away. There's no check or balances. I think they only have a 4 ticket limit per show.

Tom Petty, though, wants 40 dollars for fan club membership. They have an 8 ticket limit per tour 4 tickets per show limit. Around here his shows are the big outdoor ones. So if you want to go the decision is covered seats or lawn. Although it seems like a lot at first thought, remember it is two headlining acts and actual ticket prices are usually below what other touring acts generally charge. Spread out over several tickets it is a wash.

For me it comes down to how many tickets I need, When buying single I take my chances.

I didn't do the Tom Petty fan club last year because of what you explain. To me that was a bit much and I am not a huge Petty fan. I went to two of the shows only because of the ABB!

Santana however, I love and would sign up for this fan club especially the fact that you did so well in a place that is normally hard to score a decent ticket.

For anyone waiting to get tickets for the DTB/Santana line up I would go ahead and sign up. My tickets already went on sale. This is just another thing great about this website! We all share experiences and get some of the best advice!!!

I also got tickets for the Mohegan Sun show. Section 7 iirc.
Anybody know if we'll be able to at least tape Derek even though Santana says no?

For those of you that used your Santana membership, how far in advance did you signup before the sale? I might want to sign up, but not if I was prohibited from presales for being too new a member.

Also on the Petty presale, you can search presale tix and then join the club through TM while ordering those presale tix. So you can look before you sign up. Remember, Petty presale tix are willcall w/ ID only, so if the buyer can't go, the tix are void. See my post in the AG.

I did the Tom Petty membership last year, and it also included a copy of Highway Comapnion. I am not a big Petty fan, but I can great seats for two shed shows- about tenth row near the center.

Petty is very fan conscious- they canceled a bunch of pre-sale tickets because brokers got hold of them, and they instituted a will-call pickup to thwart them.

The ABB Livenation pre-sales were terrible and the general public sale even worse. The membership was absolutely worth it.

I just now signed up for Santana, with the expectation that they will also be doing some summer shows in August. Even without Derek, Santana is worth seeing.

I have been informed through DTB management that "ONLY" audio is OK but if Santana doesn't allow anything I don't know that it will be OK for DTB during the tour. I would write to DTB management thru their wedbsite to inquire further!

It's quite likely that Santana will be stealth-taped, not as likley for Derek.

Yeah, I've been trying to find somebody to tape the Mohegan Sun show, but i'm having a hard time.
I would do it, but my dad doesn't like the idea of me taping a band against their wishes.

FWIW: just scored some section 101 row g seats for the Hollywood show at the HardRockLive using the Santana Pre-Sale. "...all seats are guaranteed to be in the first 20 rows...."

Now if I can just nab seventh rows seats for the 39 nights of the Beacon Run this spring I'll be BulletProof. Otherwise, I am tempted to just crawl under my seat each night and conveniently re-appear the following evening around 7pm for each of the 14 nights or until I get caught shuffling around the floor hiding from the floor sweepers!

I joined the Santana fan club in order to get better tics for the Albany show. Unfortunately, there seems to be only one pre sale....and that is directly through the Time Union Arena. The sale is on Fri 2/8/08. Anybody have the presale code for this?? Please PM me!!

Looks Like I wasted $25 bucks on the Supernatural club, because the regular sale starts Sat 2/9/08, and I cannot find any info on, when, or if there will be a fan club presale
