Who sings vocals on Pink Anderson's version of C.C. & O. Blues?

What Brownie McGhee song tells the story of Brownie's amazement at the integrated communities he discovered on his first visit to California?

What instrument did Leadbelly play before picking up the guitar, and what event led to him to switch from 6-string to 12 string?

No Googling!

Oh, and congratulations! Sorry.

This might make for a fun game on the site - one person posts a trivia question, the one that answers it gets to post a new question, etc.

You're ruining my image, Randy! I'm stumped!!

After googling, here's what I found:

Leadbelly: Although he most commonly played the twelve string, he could also play the piano, mandolin, harmonica, violin, concertina, and accordion.

"C.C. And O. Blues" - Pink Anderson and Simmie Dooley (rec. 14. April 1928) - Columbia 14400-D

Not sure about the Brownie McGhee. I'll take a stab at it and say "I'm a Stranger Here'?

Ok-one for YOU!

A New Orleans musician, along with his piano debuted on Imperial Records in 1954. He was a child prodigy who unfortunately died young due to drinking problems.

Oh, I haven't the foggiest - but then again, no one is boasting of my blues trivia prowess. Those just happened to be a few tidbits I could come up with to test Bruce's theory.

Leadbelly was an accordion player as a child, and he would accompany his uncle, a guitar player. They were mugged one day while busking, Leadbelly's accordion was smashed, and his uncle was stabbed, and would die from his wounds. When Leadbelly's father told him he would get him a new accordion, Leadbelly said "no . . . I want a guitar." Or so the story goes. Another story tells how Hudie was traveling - in Texas, I believe - and came across a young woman in a tent revival playing the 12-string, and he took it up shortly thereafter.

I don't find Pink Anderson's music very interesting, except for C.C. & O., largely because of Simmie's singing.

Nice footage of Sonny & Brownie. Ddin't they end up being enemies towards the end?

i always thought they had trouble getting along when they started yelling at each other mid song during a concert in their later years at The Other End(or Bitter End) in NYC.

I've got about 10 or so Pink Anderson songs on various compilations, but I think I've only heard one Floyd Council track. I don't recall it as being particularly memorable.

I always thought that "The Anderson Council" would be a good name for a Floyd cover band.
