The best way of getting rid of mosquitoes is Listerine, the original
medicinal type. The dollar store type works too. I was at a friend's deck
party, and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party
sprayed the lawn and deck floor, and the little demons disappeared.

whenever I saw mosquitoes, and that worked as well. It worked at a picnic
where we sprayed the area around the food table, the children's swing area, and
the standing water nearby.

Good information to have for this summer. May also add this to my camping supplies! Thanks, Jason!

The weather conditions this year has been just right to allow Mosquitoes to survive in record numbers. If you’re having problems ridding your yard of Mosquitoes, the next best thing is to put the annoying flying little critters to good use.

Recipe By - Chef Jacques Martine’

Yield – 12 Chocolates (given this years crop of Mosquitoes, this recipe should double easily.)

Ingredients –

* 100 Live Mosquitoes
* 1 vanilla bean split and seeds scraped out
* 2 Egg Yolks
* 1 Tbsp. Sugar
* 1 tsp. Butter, melted
* 12 oz. Bittersweet Chocolate

Procedures -

1. Using a medium size pot as a double boiler, heat two cups of water and place a bowl over it. Add chocolate and turn heat to low, heat until chocolate is melted. In another mixing bowl, add vanilla seeds and egg yolks, beat until smooth, add sugar and butter. Fold in Mosquitoes carefully. Take care not to smash them. They stay more flavorful and retain extra moisture if intact.
2. Note: The chocolate should never be heated over 100 degrees F. Use a thermometer to check the chocolate. Carefully fold the egg mixture into the chocolate. Use a teaspoon and immediately place a half teaspoon of the mixture onto wax paper or place in chocolate molds. Refrigerate to harden.
3. The chocolate covered Mosquitoes can be refrigerated for up to three weeks. The chocolate helps to preserve their freshness.
4. These make great dessert garnishes as well as excellent conversation after dinner!

I think they see an empty bag and go " Aw **** , no food in this house. "

Bruce, I just knew somebody would come up with a recipe using mosquitos. LOL
Good one!!!

Thanks for the tips on mosquito control.

This is an old one but still works. Avon Skin So Soft. Rub that on you and
you'll smell good to other humans, but mosqiitos will think you stink. They won't go near you.

I have seen those clear baggies full of water hanging from the corners of RV's. I have also seen the same at restaurant entrances. I think it also thwarts houseflies too. Mosquitoes love water, but I can not figure what it does either. Maybe it magnifies other flies to 50x the reg size and scares the hell out of them.,
