some speculation over at the philzone,,,, a rumor of Phil Lesh and the Allman Bros summer tour.

I'ld love to see this, if this happens will see some shows with Warren and Derek joining Phil for a song or two

can't say I'd be looking forward to the phishkids around the scene. I wouldn't want them to split up the sets and give Trey that 1:30 with only 2:00 left for the Brothers. If there is an opener, lets see someone a little smaller to give the boys a full show

I believe we're talking about Phil Lesh not Phish. I loved the last P&F and ABB tour.

That would be insane. Ratdog was great last year, but PL&F is way better.

I saw Zakk here in town last night with Ozzy....I would
have absolutely relished the chance to have seen him with
the Brothers. Surely it couldn't have been the train wreck
that everybody says it was. I mean, the guy can shred with
the best of them...and has stage presence to spare.

If they are both to play full two hour sets it would be great.

Sorry about that, for some reason, reading that post and Trey ran through my mind instead of Phil. I must not have been completely awake yet. Warren working double duty on a Phil and Friends and ABB gig would be sick. Don't know how long he could pull off a double duty tour, but we could DEFINITELY count on some sitins with Warren singing some of the deeper tunes from Phil's list.

Warren would not be doing double duty. Phil Lesh has stated that he is gonna keep the current Phil & Friends lineup together for the summer and maybe longer. That would be too much for Warren to handle. The current Phil lineup is very, very good anyway and would be a great fit on a double bill with the ABB as long as they both play full sets.

68, I'd take 90 mins from each and be happy too. :-)

Q - would Phil include Warren? Even if not, the new P&F is very cool. Larry Campbell, Jackie Greene and Steve Molitz do Phil well.

It would be a nice tour.

Sorry..I can't take too much of Phil and that Grateful Dead style music, too much noodling, whirly twirly, hippie dippy stuff going nowhere. Maybe I haven't drank enough bong water yet, I don't know. I went to the ABB/Phil/Mule show a few summers ago when Warren did his gig with all three. I left about 30min into Phil. Just not my cup of tea.
Maybe the ABB with someone else....Doyle Brahmall, Grace and the Nocturnals, John Hammond, Los Lobos etc....

I strongly second that emotion! The Ratdog tour was good for ticket sales, but it was not my cup of tea. Watchtower and Come Together with Bobby at PNC was painful for me.

Sadly, without a co-headliner or opener with a following, I think it would be pretty difficult for the ABB to pull-off a shed tour nowadays.
