One of many topics that I read about John on this site. That is what I love about it here. Everyone loves the ABB but we're open minded enough to discuss a wide range of music. |

Yes, indeed, rainy! Such a simple concept but look how deep it goes. ____________________ "Come on down to the Mermaid Cafe and I will buy you a bottle of wine, and we'll laugh and toast to nothing and smash our empty glasses down..." |

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

bear with me here:
what if lennon wrote:
Imagine there's "a" heaven - instead of "no" heaven. and the rest of the lyrics stay the same.
this is what my belief about heaven really is. |

Lennon wrote, IMHO, reasons the world goes to war...just a start, but Imagine Peace! |

Anyone notice how much John Lennon changed starting with the Sgt Pepper era?
In late 1966 after he got his famous spectacles of Private Gripweed (How I Won The War) , he seemed to look and act and talk and sing differently than prior to this. Compare the early Beatles John Lennon (1962-1966) to the later years (1966-1980) Almost like he was a new person.

We love much of John Lennon's work....
Imagine was the "last song" we used at our wedding reception, and Grow Old Along With Me was played as we walked down to the alter....
