This is one HELL of a double bill. And I would bet my bottom dollar, having seen Santana quite a few times, that there will be jams w/ Derek and Carlos EVERY night. This is going to be special...............some West Coast dates, por favor, Carlos?

You would think the Casino show would be more costly than Boston...strange! None the less, I'll most likely go for the Boston show and with Wanee the following weekend, I will probably not get tickets for CT.

I don't like MSG and it looks like Derek will be at Wanee instead of Atlantic City, so my hoie is Mohegan Sun- what's the arena venue like?

Well, whaddya know? Looks like the final date is at Oak Mountain (aka Verizon Cellular Center ... or something).

On-Sale dates?

Answering my own question: Tix for Birmingham (Pelham) go on sale March 1!

As far as Wanee goes, I guess there is room for optimism as DTB will not open for Santana in Atlantic City on the assumed Wanee weekend.
Maybe they will play Wanee after all, although it makes you wonder why 4/11-12 do not show up on the DTB web site, while later dates are already announced.

I have seen Santana 15 years ago in Jones Beach, and the concert was not what I had expected it to be. It was mostly soul music, which may have been what Carlos was into at that time.
Has anyone seen him lately and can comment on what the set list might look like these days ?

Around the time that you indicate, I saw a Santana show ... Carlos with his brother (use to be in a band called Mandrill, I think). Yeah, this was not a typical Santana show. I thought they sounded more along the lines of Miami Sound Machine or something. I saw a lot of shaking heads at this one.

Does anyone know if Santana mixes up his setlists lately ( have not seen him for 12+ yrs, when he toured w/ J Beck)? I might try for both Atlanta shows if so. I am really liking the synergies for this show.

I checked the shows from Santana's 2006 tour on his website and it looks like he varies the setlist a little bit from night to night.

The setlists from recent tours are posted on santana.com. From what I remember, he doesn't play the same show night after night, but unfortunately does mix in some of his pop hits of recent years.

Agree with you here, susea! Have always thought that these 2 could make some real magic together. I'll be looking at going to one of the shows in my neck of the woods for sure!

I think it is funny that everyone has orgasms over Derek playing with Santana, who is the sell out king deluxe, playing on anyones records that will have him, yet the Dickey playing with Kid Rock is some artistic crime........ all in the eye.............

A Fri and Sat in Atlanta at Chatain?!?!?! Woo hoo!!!

Doesn't the Spirit of the Suwanee website have Wanee listed as 4/19-20? If so, Derek is playing both of those nights with Santana.

Finally, some of the pieces, or missing open pieces, are falling into place for Wanee.

Or, all in the ear. I like Santana's music. Kid Rock, not so much.

Wanee is April 12-13th weekend and Derek is free that weekend.
Originally it was supposed to run on April 19th & 20th but it was pulled a week forward.
