I wonder if Budweiser is gonna sponsor this tour........They might as well. Its nauseating to think of all the idiots who will be booing Dickey while waitin for Kid Rock to come onstage....totally missing the whole concept. I'd rather see Gregg or Dickey playing in my neighborhood bar for a $500 garuntee with no contract than to see their talent wasted at madison square garden openin for someone who is a mock imitation of a sound from a value that they used to know. I wanna f*&^%in puke. Another day in corporate music.

he is going to be in Kid Rock's band, not opening for him.

Like that's a whole lot better? I still can't believe how things ended up sometimes.

Cant blame the guy for wanting to make a few dollars.
Not to mention the exposure with a younger crowd.

Not takin sides... but I watched Kid Rock and Hank Jr last weekend and it was OK. Put him in a different light for me... after seeing that, this wouldn't surpeise me, but I was sort of wishing for a Beacon appearance, we'll see.

They will think Kid Rock brought his Dad along.

i hadn't heard about this but knew Dickey had something special coming up. What is the story?

I can't picture Dickey playing Kid Rock's music. A little heavy for Dickey.

During the encore of his set at Woodstock '99, Kid Rock went around and took over every instrument in the band at different times while the song was in progress. Maybe he does this every show, I wouldn't know because he isn't exactly my cup of tea. But he was certainly displaying some talent right there...

Also, IIRC Warren had Kid Rock sit in with the Mule for some Sabbath covers and the Mule even opened a few shows for him. Any friend of the Mule deserves a little respect in my book.

No strong opinion regarding Dickey joining him for a tour - other than if Dickey wants to branch out then I hope it's a success for him...

Lot's of this is covered in below thread
http://www.allmanbros.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=XForum&file=v iewthread&tid=70336

Apparantly Duane Betts and KR are buds and Dickey and Duane will be a part of the KR band not a DBGS opener.

Don't know that I would call it dumb - I'm sure Dickey knows what he's doing. But I think I'll pass. The only thing of Kid Rock's that I can think of the I like would be his duet with Sheryl Crow on Picture...

Give Kid a break, Dude has some talent when he wants to show it.

I think it would be good to see Dickey jam with him, also give Dickey a shot at the younger crowd. The way I see it..if it were true...then thats Dickey's business.

Dickey is a grown man and he can choose to do whatever he likes. You don't want to see it? Don't go. He will be touring with Great Southern later on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~Dickey doesnt belong with Kid Rock, opening for him OR playing with him....as a curio type of thing i can see...but part of a tour? Thats just a lousy idea. I think alot of us on here share that sentiment.
