My daughter is scheduled to have all 4 of her wisdom teeth out tomorrow morning in the oral surgeon's office. Please think good thoughts for Kelly. We tried to do this once before right before Thanksgiving and she got so nervous that the Dr. decided not to go forward that day. Hopefully it will happen tomorrow with good results.
Thanks,
Teresa

I wanna Wanee right now.

Hey Theresa, I'll be thinking of her for you. It ain't so bad to have done, as I'm sure many have told her. Just get her to the part where they give her the laughing gas & she'll never know what's comin'

Her brother had his out last July and he unfortunately told her the gory details and scared her so she was really nervous before and is a bit of a drama queen. I told her she was just gonna have to "get it over with" tomorrow! Her heart rate went up to the 80's the first time and then when the doc finally got her calmed down her heart rate was in the 40's and he gave up that day! He is willing to try again tomorrow so I am praying it will go well this time. Oh the joys of parenthood. Kelly is sweet sixteen.

Hey Theresa!

I'll be thinking about you and your daughter - good thoughts only!

If your daughter is still nervous, just tell about these little known wisdom teeth facts:

1. The removal of wisdom teeth allows more room in the cranium for intelligence to develop. Hence, the removal of wisdom teeth makes one smarter.

2. "Hot" guys really go for girls who have had wisdom teeth cut out. You might think we're looking at your chest or your glamorous face, but in reality we're just trying to do a mental-dental x-ray.

3. In the days that follow wisdom teeth removal, you get a lot of attention (especially from hot guys"). This is something that you can use to full advantage!

4. The tooth fairy pays a premium for wisdom teeth. Pay-offs have been known to come in the form of shoes, clothing and even cars. Check with your local tooth fairy for details.

5. NITROUS OXIDE!!!!

Seriously, I hope all goes well with Kelly!

Teresa, ain't parenthood grand?? Been there and done that with my two girls. Me, I had the bottom ones removed at 21, still have my tops. Just tell the doc to give her a couple days worth of good drugs. She'll be fine. Good luck to the both o' yas!

Tell her, I been there and although it is uncomfortable...the 'all you can eat ice cream' makes up for it. I had all four out, swelled up like a chipmunk...but it really wasnt too bad.

BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!

I've had two out myself. There was really nothing to it. So I'm sending out those positive vibes to Miss Kelly.

Sending positive thoughts down to Kelly, Theresa. I had a couple out and it was not a big deal. After reading Rusty's post, I'm now thinking of having the other 2 yanked.

Oh man, this might not be the most PC answer, but I have good memories from my four wisdom teeth being removed. When my dentist gave me that special medicine before hand, I remember looking out the window while the medicine took hold and watching a small finch (bird) land on the branch and sit there for what seemed like an eternity. I never felt like I was so close to nature in a long time! I missed some school and caught up on some cartoon watching and there wasn't much pain at all afterwards. Come to think of it, I want some more teeth pulled right now!!! Good luck to your daughter (you don't really need it)

All the best to Kelly, Teresa.

Tell her someone you know walked home from having three out at once. I must have been quite a sight!

She'll do fine.

I had all four of mine removed at once. Dentist told me to count backwards from 100. I got to 98 and stopped. He asked how was I doing and I remember saying "Like I'm at Woodstock". Last thing I recall until I woke up. No pain pills for me, went out and got a vanilla shake. Piece of cake.

Good thoughts for Kelly....I have never had mine removed, I'm a Dentist coward. Have went through so much pain because of them. Probably more than if I had them removed.

When I was a kid, I would make my Grandmother drive me around the block several times before I would finally go in.

Today is much easier...i'm sure.

Thanks so much for the great thoughts and prayers. Kelly is now completley wisdom toothless. The doctor did not give her much sedation medication because her heart rate was 45 so she was very alert and wanted to go shopping while we were waiting for her RX to be filled. The low heart rate is what concerned the Dr during the first try and he really wanted to do it at the hospital but the insurance would not cover that so I was a little afraid of what might happen today. Luckily it started raining and I could talk her out of the shopping experience. She is home now and took a pain pill and drank a chocolate shake and hopefully she will take a nap! Nurse Mother Teresa is on duty for her. She brought her IPOD with her today and I think that helped her relax.

Glad to hear Kelly made it through things, Teresa! One good thing - she will never have to worry about any nasty wisdom tooth problems ever again.

LOL Bill - you're one in a million!
