Lettuce is a supergroup.. it's the group that started the careers of adam deitch (drummer for scofield and wyclef) and Eric Krasno (guitar player from soulive) ... They only have a few dates scheduled in Boston and New York but I promise it's gonna be good.. Their new album is unbelievably tight

02/28/08 Thu Paradise Rock Club Boston, MA
Lettuce 02/29/08 Fri Sullivan Hall New York, NY
Lettuce 03/01/08 Sat Sullivan Hall New York, NY

As a perveyor of Funk, thanks for the heads up, DG. I've also been listening to the Funk group-The Blue Method - out of Philly in the last few months. Worth a listen as well.

Cheers,

Derek H

I've seen Blue Method a couple of times in Philly. The first time was when they opened for Otiel and the Peacemakers and I was sold. I have their CD (the first one) and I really enjoy them. The lead singer is a BIIIIIG man, and he sure can sing!

I'm from the Philly area and have seen The Blue Method. They are a solid funk band.
I have also seen Lettuce in New Orleans. And there are few bands that come close to that kind of greazy funk. Blue Method is fine, but Lettuce is MAJOR LEAGUE FUNK!

Hey Mule, do you listen to the Friday Funk on XPN? I try to listen every Friday. I wonder if they've ever played Lettuce. I have heard them play Blue Method during the Funk and at other times.

Hey Terri,
I catch Friday Funk when I can. Haven't listened much lately. Glad to hear they are playing the locals. Never heard Lettuce on XPN. Think they're a bit under the radar. Another great funk outfit in Philly is Dr. Ketchup. If you get a chance to check them out, they are a lot of fun.

For all you silly people here's info on the band and where they go their name

LETTUCE is Adam Deitch and Eric Krasno's project from a few years ago that helped launch both of their careers. It's always interesting to see what happens when old friends get back together and get back to their roots .... these shows could be pretty special.....
