Just received a myspace bulletin from Porter Batiste Stolz regarding the Gov't Mule Post-Party in NYC:

quote:
*******

The Gov't Mule aftershow was a huge success!! The show was packed with fans and musicians and the audience was a sea of blinking, flashing green P.B.S. necklaces, thanks to our wonderful merch girls.
The boys were joined on stage by Warren Haynes of Gov't Mule and formerly The Allman Brothers, and John Gros of Papa Grows Funk.... just to name a few. Be on the lookout for more details about the show!

*******

Think this was a typo or someone "in the know" letting something slip??

Hope the current ABB lineup remains intact.

I have not heard anything, but my first guess would be that it was someone unfamiliar w Warren. Sometimes when I explain the formation of the Mule I get into the one-time departure from the Bros and then say he's back in, but sometimes people retain different things from a glance. I'm w you, I hope it stays the same. I bet it does, and I am not a big gambler.

I believe the writer meant to say, "Warren Haynes, formerly formerly of the Allman Brothers Band."

Seriously, he probably didn't know WH had rejoined the band...SEVEN FREAKIN' YEARS AGO!!

Yeah, those explanations were my hope. Just seems that George Porter's history with Mule would mean that his promotion people would know a bit more about Warren than your average Joe. Stuff like this always seems to raise my blood pressure a bit.

And it seems every year about this time we see a thread or two saying someone is leaving the band! Until we hear it/anything from a legit source, it's all BS in my book!

As long as the individual band members have alternative creative outlets, WHY would they WANT to quit the ABB?

If I read this correctly it states that Govt Mule was joined onstage by Warren Haynes of Govt Mule.

Doesn't make much sense.

It's the curse of bands who don't keep in the public eye.

How many times have you read that Lindsey Buckingham or Stevie Nicks is an "ex-Fleetwood Mac" member? Even though they've been back with the band since 1997, when the band goes on their usual 5 year hiatuses, the members become "exes" again...every subsequent Fleetwood Mac project then becomes a "REUNION". At least, the ABB doesn't get stuck with THAT "reunion" tag every year.

They will if Dickey ever rejoins the band.

Hmmm...now there's an interesting idea. Get Warren in Fleetwood Mac. Get Rick Vito back, too and they'd have shades of Peter Green/Danny Kirwan all over again!!

Anyone who uses the term "merch girls" is an unreliable source.

Incidentally, that's great news that Dickey is back in Fleetwood Mac.
