If you want to come to the funeral, be there by 10:30. Because the family is huge and they will have to seat us in a specified place. Red Dog will speak on behalf of all of us, so it will be real special. I told him to make some notes and he said he will wing it. Mama Louise thought that was real funny!

I would come and pay my respects on Monday, but I have family coming to the house from out of town.

Judi, I'm sure Red Dog will speak from the heart and make Mama Hill, Mama Louise and all of us Peach Heads proud.

Fare the well, Mama Hill. See you on the other side.

Rest easy, Mama Hill. Now that there are a multitude of managers, roadies and musicians on the other side, we now have someone that can cook up a storm!
Sure makes the prospect of getting older and passing on a lot easier to take.

I'm kind of hoping Mama Hill has someone cooking for her for a change......after 92 years of working hard, I'm thinking she has earned a rest.

I just spent the evening with Mama Hill's family. There was love and laughter, hugs and smiles all around. What a wonderful family. They all appreciate everyone's acts of kindness and love.

Good point, Ann! But I bet she's taste testing big time! I feel my mother looking over my shoulder holding a spoon each time I'm stirring the soup pot myself.

Yesterday, someone said they needed vegetables. I cooked butter beans, field peas, and green beans and took a few bags o salad. I warned them that I had used only salt, pepper, and butter, for seasoning, so not to be expecting the Mamas good seasoning. I left before they ate!

But you included the most important ingredient - you cooked for Ms. Hill's family with love!

92 years old, surrounded by friends and family, leaving a legacy of love, hard work, faithful service, and helping those in need.

I hope the same can be said of me some day.

Rest easy, Mama Hill, and peace and goodwill to all during this holiday season.

Ellen did good. I walked in today and Mama Louise said, "Get you a plate of Ellen's vegetables!" I had to top it with turkey, dressing, ham, mac and cheese and okra. You can't help it because there are about 20 ladies in the kitchen and they keep putting food on your plate. Then Mama says, "Get ya some more!" Oh Lord!! I think that I have gained a few pounds in the last few days. Then, tomorrow after the service, we will have lunch with the church ladies.........yicks!!!!! I will let ya'll know how it goes tomorrow.

Only restaurant cook who ever called me back into the kitchen to find out who I was, what I was doing there, what my wife's deal was, et cetera- righteous folks are who I'll line up behind when my number comes up!

Was Mama Hil Mama Louise's Mother? I've heard several stories about Mama Louise but I don't know who Mama Hil was. I mean no disrespect just wondering who she was. I know if the brothers and sisters here are broken hearted she must of been one nice lady.

RC, I read somewhere that they were cousins and Mama Hill was Mama Louise's godmother.

It was a beautiful, sweet, and powerful service for a beautiful, sweet, powerful lady. Red Dog said he loved her and she loved him. That she loved all the brothers and fed them and their wives and children. He said that he was a better person for having known her. We all agreed. I have never heard more beautiful voices singing her praises and singing her home. The room was overflowing with love.

Mama Hill has gone Home. She reared her family to be strong and work hard and when she left, she knew everybody would be all right. She was strong in her faith in her Lord and in her faith in her family---A loving extended family that reaches around the world.

As we rejoice in her Home Going, it is all right for us to be sad, for we will miss her sweet smile and loving touch.

The producer of the show called Mama Louise. So, yes, Oprah knows and sent her sympathy.
