I am still waiting for my tickets for the Fiday (12/28) and Saturday (12/29) Mule shows at the Beacon from MusicToday.

I have sent two different emails in the past three weeks and I get the same general answer that they will be mailed up to one to two weeks before the show. It seems really short sighted on their part to think that the mail, even if they over night them, will not be delayed due to any bad weather or the holiday flow of cards, etc. I don't remember this being a problem any time before with them.

Is anyone else out there having the same problem? Is there a phone # to use to contact them directly? I need to get some tickets to friends for both nights even after I get mine.

Thanks for any feedback,
Jim

Jim, I'm still waiting for my December 28th tickets also. I called Music Today yesterday and I got the same general answer you got. The number I called was 1-800-594-8499.

I'm sure you will all recieve your tickets on time. This has been their policy for a long time and I have never encountered any problems. I bet you all start getting them any day. I believe they do this to stop people from buying them and upping the price on e-bay.

I got my tickets for Neil Young at DAR last month about a week before the show.
about the same for Mule shows in DC.

I would hope their logistics people understand holiday mail patterns.

I would chill for now. Calling and bothering them only takes resources away from
getting tickets mailed.

It is little disconcerting to people who paid months in advance for their tickets to have Loge A dead center pop up 2 weeks prior to the show! What happenned to " The early bird..." ?

Probably the ticket brokers returning unsold tickets back to Ticketmaster... Sucks that those seats may have gone to a broker in the first place and were not available to a fan during the pre-sale...

I've never had a problem receiving tickets from Musictoday. I bought the 3-day pass during the presale and got my tickets last week. Not to defend them in any way, the bad weather in the Northeast may have slowed delivery a little. Took a little longer than I expected to recieve the Mule DVD. (shipped on 12/7, received on 12/15).

Peace

I would not ascribe this to ticket broker returns. More likely insider tix that are not going to be used so they're released late (think Warren's friends, or music biz types who can't make it). But I've often seen some better than average tix be released for a show a week to 10 days beforehand. Not so good as an insider might want, but better than was available prior to the late release. I've wondered if it's a TM strategy to hold back some better tix so as to try to capture some last minute buyers.

LOL! Why would TB buy tix back from brokers/scalpers? Brock hit it on the head, those seats were held back for friends, family, promos, etc... and are now being released due to availability. Same thing happens for ABB, and many other bands and many times includes 1st row Orch (AA) too (Eg. if tix aren't won on a radio give-away, they're are released for sale to the public).

Be thankful some of those tix do make it out now-a-days, in the mid-90s Row A Loge was empty (at least not used by the rightful ticketholder) most of the time because Epic (I believe) got them and generally didn't use them.

Glad I could get you to laugh out loud...

I read an article many moons ago regarding ticketmaster being in bed with some ticket brokers and in the article the notion was floated that some brokers reserve tickets much like an option to buy or something or other...

I just spoke to Music Today. They said my tickets were shipped today. A little close but still plenty of time.

It's all good, I appreciated the chuckle! As bad as TB is, I just found it humorous to try and envision them trying to help someone, anyone, even a scalper out.

I don't doubt that the idea was floated around, because I do believe it may have been true (and may very well still be true)! My guess would be that the tickets were "reserved" only until they actually went onsale - for example, when tix went on sale, the scalper could receive a block of say 25 tix in the first 5 rows (cause he/she "reserved" them w/ TB or a TB employee and are paying above face) and he/she could only take 20 if that's all they had $ for, the remaining 5 were probably then sold to the public.

Either way, I'm pretty confident that the released seats in question were from the band (promos, guests, etc...) - I don't believe that even TB could explain away how "excellent" tix came onto the market so late in the game (CC orders would've been rejected a long time ago).

Just my opinion. Peace and safe travels!

People who bought 3 night passes for Mule got great seats. Second year in a row and as I fan, I have to give the band, promoters and the venue my thanks for this approach. Loyal fans should get the best seats, especially in a 3 night run.

The good tickets that were up on TM recently are the ones the band gets for press and friends and such. That happens all the time, with the ABB too. If they aren't used, they get thrown back in the pool. Be happy some decent seats were released.

It's gonna be fun and no matter where you sit, you can see and hear at the Beacon. Which is what makes it special. Also, I have never been at any concert where people were prevented from moving around a little. Only the sold out ABB shows were difficult because every single seat and then some was occupied.
