I was wondering if anyone called explain to me how to post a home picture in a thread.

My Mom has some photos stored in her PC...and I would like to post some of them here.

I remember a long time ago...we all posted our pictures (not me) and kids pictures in a thread...thats where Droogie posted my famous "Parade" pitcure. It was nice seeing what folks looked like. Especially friends you have never seen.

If it's to much trouble to explain....don't worry about it.

You need to upload the pictures to somewhere on the web, so they are accessible (your c: drive won't work).

The easiest (and it's free) is http://www.photobucket.com. Set up a free account, and then upload the pictures from your PC. Some people also use www.flickr.com.

They do the hard work for you - under each picture will be the code that you need to paste into a message here. Pick the one with the img tags around it. When you click it on their site, it automatically copies it to your clipboard. Just come to your post here and paste it in (press cntl and V or edit - paste from the top of your browser).

Pick any post with a picture in it and hit the 'quote' button and you will see an example of the img tags and the web address.

Here's an example:

You can also do this with any picture on the internet, although some sites block you from linking to their pictures.

Any picture that is in the pictures section here can also be used - open the picture, and right click your mouse - then click properties and you will see the web address that you can copy and paste - highlight the address, and press cntl and c to do a copy.

You will need to put the img tags around the address. When you are typing your message, you see some icons - the last one looks like a computer screen with a color palette - click it and it automatically puts the beginning and ending img tags in your message - just paste (or type) the web address of the photo in between the tags.

okay - one more trick - if you need to resize the image, in the beginning IMG tag type in IMG=500x500. That is usually the maximun size. If the picture isn't square, you may have to try a few combos to make sure it doesn't get too skewed - like 500x400 or 400x500 based on the orientation.

You can hit the 'Preview Post' button to check it out and fix it before hitting Post Reply.

If you blow it up too big it gets too grainy, so you just have to preview it to see what looks best

You don't have the full address - just some ...'s in the middle.

Go to the screen with the picture, right click on the picture, and select properties.

That should have the full name.
