The rumors are already flyin' that the guys are going to play more shows.

So, assuming for a minute that they find their way across the pond and grace us with their "Presence" (get it?), just wondering how much y'all would pay to see them.

I've always said, when acts like McCartney and the Eagles and the Stones ask those ridiculous prices for their tickets, that I wouldn't pay that kind of money to see anybody.

But I would probably make an exception for Zeppelin. The other exception might be Pink Floyd--Roger Waters or no Roger Waters.

So, I'm thinkin' I could (and would) pay around $200 to see Zeppelin. Anything over that and I just couldn't afford it. Or, if I could afford it, I couldn't justify it.

That is a hard question for me since there is a huge gap between what I would pay, and what I can afford to pay. I will be curious to see the tour (if there is indeed a tour) unfold. Will it be limited engagements at maximum prices?
When the Eagles first got back together (I guess they are sort of together since they have a new album) the first tour prices were outrageous, so I passed. They came back thru town about 3-4 months later at half the price, and in bigger venues-so they eventually went both ways on pricing/venue.

They could get whatever they want for tickets. If they only charged $200 I would say they are going easy on us, considering the Van Halen tickets for the Bank Atlantic Center are going for $165 with the service charges.

I would think the tickets will be $300. Its a once in a lifetime opportunity, so yeah, I guess Id pay it.

I'd love to see them if they came around but wouldn't pay $200. I saw them back in '73 and '77 and saw Page and Plant when they toured about 10 years ago. The videos that were previously on YouTube seemed to indicate a pretty good show over in England and I'd love to see them again but I can't justify $200. I hope they do tour, though. Sounds like they were having fun being on stage again.

Yeah...but the difference is this: I'VE ALREADY SEEN McCartney, the Eagles, and the Stones. I don't pay extortion prices today for bands that I saw back in the day for under $50 a ticket.

But Zep? Since I came of concert age in 1983, I haven't seen them. As such, I would easily pay $500 for the privilege, and believe you me, it would be a privilege indeed. No, I can't afford it...but I can't afford NOT to. I have been a Zepplehead since I first started rocking, I had license plates that said "ZEP LED" in high school, and Robert Plant was my second concert ever (Bowie toured first in summer 1983, but Plant wasn't far behind that September).

I've only paid over $150 for Clapton and the Stones and have had good seats each time I've been to any of their shows, but I paid what they were asking. If Zeppelin makes it to the the states, I'll pay whatever they ask too. I wasn't born when any of these guys were touring in their prime, so I see these shows as a once in a lifetime opportunity not to be missed.

I don't care to see them at all. I got all Zepped out a long time ago. They're great but I listened to 'em way too much.

Besides it's the Allman Brothers Band that I care to pay for.

Let's see, I paid a scalper $50 to see them in 1977 from the 8th row. I was making $2.25 per hour then pumping gas. Adjusting for inflation, and accounting for the recognition of my own mortality, then the answer is.... I have no idea. Announce the tour, let me pull up some decent tix for a show in my hometown and I'll have a difficult time not clicking purchase. Bring it!

I was pumping gas back then as well...

I dropped $350. for 5th row seats to see Cream at MSG because it was a once in a lifetime event for me. Also spent $255 on floor tix for the Clapton/Winwood (Blind Faith) show coming up for the same reason. I guess I would probably splurge the same for Led Zeppelin if the seats were that good. Unfortunately, it means making sacrifices in other areas.

I wouldn't pay any more to see Zepplin than a Beacon ticket to see ABB, I guess that's my yardstick. That goes for any band.

I don't think so. I remember my first job in 75 was at $1.90, at McD's. I remember that well. It might have adjusted in 77 to something higher than $2.25, but not $3. I was a Gulf man. Maybe you had a state minimum?

Yeah..it would be hard for me to pay that...but I would. Ditto on the Saturday night and at least a 2 hours show.

And Candlemass would have to open for them....with Messiah. and play for 3 hours.

Led Zeppelin...A Floor Seat?....$150 at Showtime.

I'd pay $75 just to get in the door, a cheap seat in the rafters...then hang out in hopes of getting on the floor..

$250. I think DanB was the one who said he got Zep'd out a while back... So did I, but I've got my second wind.

Maybe I was getting $2.75 an hour for my two gas station jobs. I worked for an idependent station, Mr. Martins it was called. Last of the stations around at the time that still washed your windows, and filled your tank for you. I guess a few years earlier is when all the self-service stations got started.

All i know is I had a lot of desposible income back then, with my apartment rent being $82, split 4 ways bringing it down to a whopping $20.50 a month...

If the rumors are true and Zeppelin does tour this side of the pond, hoo boy even I'd hate to see how much I'll be paying cause I know I'll be there, along with the Shelbmeister

Later, Karen
