Sorry to be a threadjacker, but even as a non-Beatles fan, I always thought the idea of George, Ringo, Paul, and Julian Lennon would have been pretty neat. Too bad that never came to be.

I doubt that Peter Green would be in any shape to do it

never count out peter, he's made more come backs than cher. jeremy spencer put out a fine "comeback" cd last year. danny kirwan seems to be the lost soul of the "original" fleetwood mac.

this is from the FM website and a Q & A with john mcvie last year:
Hi John. You seem to recall the 60's with great fondness. Would you like to make music with Peter Green or Jeremy Spencer in the future? I am sure a lot of people would love to see or hear you playing together. They say you can't go back, but it would be very special for the fans and hopefully yourselves.

Thanks for the question, If we could get Peter and Jeremy to do it, I'd probably, maybe, do it. I know Mick would do it in a flash. Unfortunately, I don't think there's much chance of Danny doing it. Bless his heart.

Yeah, I know. You can't possibly be a music lover and not care for the Beatles...it just can't be possible. I like a few of their tunes, but I like a lot of George Harrison's post Beatles work. Especially with the Traveling Wilburys. Don't mistake my original comment as being negative. I'm speaking as someone who isn't head over heals crazy about the Beatles, but still thought the idea of a reunion for them would have been pretty cool.

Well, technically, Danny Kirwan wasn't a member of the "original" Fleetwood Mac. They'd already released two albums by the time he joined.

When Jeremy released his latest album, there was actually some talk of the four of them getting back together just to play together again to see how it would go, but neither Jeremy nor Peter were very keen on the idea, fearing all the hype it would lead to.

Dire Straits

More specifically, the original Dire Straits with Pick Withers and David Knophler. It was the original quartet that made the most magic, yet it was brief, from 1978 to 1979. Actually I think David Knophler left during the sessions for the "Making Movies" LP but was uncredited after he quit.

They didn't - Michael Anthony isn't in the band.

I would like to see The Kinks, Dire Straits and Supertramp reunite.

Judging from how they sounded in their Royal Albert Hall reunion in May, 2005...I'd like to see Cream come back one more time.
