I heard Stef talk about it on Sirius 17 Jam-on that she was going..........I assume with Warren. What a thrill that will be for everyone attending. I can't wait for reviews.

That would be great. Especially if an agreement could be reached for the Mule to open for them for the upcoming Zep tour!!!

Now that would be something. Is there speculation on this, or are you just fantasizing?

Zep was always pretty careful about who opened for them. They wanted to appear so far superior, and were known to pull the plug on opening acts. Ask Grand Funk RR..

I thought I read that the Cult would be openers on a US tour. Maybe I read on HTW.

I'm not sure I'd say Warren is a better musician than John Paul Jones.

Will John Paul Jones be handling the vocals?

I would be shocked beyond words if anyone played with Zep. Don't think those fans paid the big bucks to see Warren play. As for the opener, Ian Astbury has been running his mouth lately on stage that the Cult will be the openers, and they seem many times more likely than Mule.

Yeah, and let's hope the Cult's mentioning it to the press puts them right out of the picture.

I am just speculating. And PRAYING that Mule would (could) open for Led Zeppelin's reunion tour.

Let's face it, even though Gov't Mule's music is similar to the mighty Zep's, they can still play any number of songs and never have to touch a Led Zeppelin cover in at least 10,000 years. :-) It is my understanding that bands usually like to have openers who can bring a following, however, I don't think the mighty Zep is going to have to base their decision making on that need.

Any band that opens for LZ is being given a gift. And I can't think of any other rock band that is more deserving than Gov't Mule (and Warren Haynes). He and his band mates have struggled to keep the late 60's early 70's rock sound alive in a time where disco, rap and punk/alternative has dominated the air waves, concert halls and revenue streams. Sure some rock bands have made it in the last 20 years, but few from the genre that Mule is in have made it to quite the level that LZ accomplished in the early 70's. And I mean made it in terms of both money and fame.

As for musicality, I think Warren's guesting would enhance a great band, a band whose members are extremely talented, but whose members haven't been on the road in a very, very long time. And LZ wouldn't have to give Haynes any lead time to learn a few songs. LOL.

I am just praying any anxiety around this situation can be managed in a positive way. I know I would be very anxious to have to deal with LZ and their people. I would definitely leave the pot at home and take a few zanex with me. LOL...

Oh, and the reason why LZ will have an opener is because fans will have the need for 3-4 hours of music for the prices they will pay to see a Led Zeppelin Reunion Tour. How many years has it been since LZ toured?

Anyway, I am glad Stef and Warren are getting to the show. They deserve it and I hope they have a fun time.

BTW, the rumor is that Plant and Allison Krauss will tour next in support of their new cd. You've heard of her right? :-)

I don't think Zep is the kind of band that would invite guest musicians to jam with them and I really have my doubts that the people in that audience would appreciate the incredible skills Warren would bring. There is no question, at this point in time, that he is a superior singer to Plant. I'm sure they're just going for a little vacation/personal enjoyment and more power to them. They sure deserve it.

Poppycock. No offense Doug. I don't think Plant has to worry about someone else's vocals.

Warren standing off stage - unseen ... playing a Les Paul (AMPLIFIED), while Jimmy Page goes through his posing routine onstage. Kind of like the "Andy" episode where Barney lip-synced the vocals while the "ringer" backstage performed them.

Not a rumor. While there are not confirmed dates they have already let the cat out of the bag.

Website says world tour dates to be announced January 1st, 2008

Comments like that by too many Mule/Warren fans on the world wide web will create negative vibes.

Sorry, feel free to speak what you want. I am just reflecting my philosophy about the world and the energy people create.

This is pretty funny thread. The idea that Warren would have anything at all to do with Monday's show is patently absurd. The audience will be literal who's who of celeb and personalities. All they are bringing is their CA$H.

Yeah, Zep is touring next year and a reunited Floyd's opening. When pigs fly.

The opening spot on a LZ tour would be a strange gift. Sure a band like Govt Mule would get exposure but to be honest it would not be a great gig for anyone.

The people would just be waiting for the band to get off stage and for LZ to play. That is no disrespect to any band regardless of their talents. It is just the honest truth. If I had to shell out the big bucks that LZ would demand then I am not there to see anyone else. An evening with is the only way to go. I feel the same way about every ABB show I see.
