That tree would look good in Willie Randolph's office at Shea, I think.

That made no sense, but then again, you seldom do.

The fact you responded tells me one thing..........It made sense. How bout those Mets down the stretch?!

(unless the Mets changed their logo)

I'm happy I've worked my way up into "seldom" making sense...I was expecting never!

Thanks!

Man, I know I'm headed for the woodshed here.......The Houston Astros.

I grew up in the Dome and eventually even ended up working for the club. Saw all the great Mets there and those were some nail-biters. Seaver, Koosman, Jones, Agee, Harrelson, McGraw, Kranepool, ect.... I was there one night and Wayne Garrett and Doug Rader got into the damndest baseball fight you've ever seen. Great memories of a great rivalry.

I was long gone, in Odessa in '86 and was in a restaurant in Monahans, Tx when Dykstra hit the HR off Dave Smith..

Then the Oilers moved to Nashville...shit!

I'm not going to pick on an Astros fan. Your team has done that enough. However, you were lucky to have Nolan Ryan during some of his better years. That 86 LCS could have gone either way, it was just luck that New York took it. Who can tell what might have happened if Houston had made the WS that year.

Nolan Ryan was kind of a choke in big games for us. He did it against the Phillies in '80, big time. But, he did come up big for you all in '69 the one game=Smoked the Orioles for like 3-4 innings..got the win. That had to be the worst deal the Mets ever made, getting rid of Nolie.

The Astros, God Love Em, had some great players and some real nice teams the years I was there. Wynn, Morgan, Dierker, Wilson, Cruz, Watson, J. R Richard, Smitty, Rader, Metzger, Sambito, J. Niekro, ect..
Our pitching, FOR YEARS, could stick it up some ***! Just look up the No-No's.

The biggest problem.....We were in the same division with the Reds and the Dodgers..Makes it tough.

Eric, the kids need a tree...I know how sad times are at the moment but ya gotta keep the chin up for the children...the new year will bring the peace, joy and love you have brought already to others...and if you want to bring in the new year with help from friends, the Peacheaters will be at Doc's ringing in the new year...you should go!!

We went out and bought a fresh-cut tree last weekend, but we haven't had time to decorate it yet. What we have at the moment resembles a very large house plant. Gonna put on "What's in That Bag" tonight and decorate that puppy!

Our Arizona style tree is about a 4 foot in diameter bundle of tumbleweed hanging from ceiling in the corner of the living room decorated with colored lites, tinsel and various christmas balls & decorations we collected over the years. Lots of extra room under it for Santa's delivery without a tree-stand there. Disposal is very convenient, take off the decorations, and place the tumbleweed out our country road and watch it roll & blow away.
