I must vent!

Why don't car makers put the dimmer switch back in the floor board, where it belongs?!!!!! Dammit!!

I'm with ya Misself, it belongs on the floor. I don't like change-creature of habit. It belongs on the floorboard.

Speaking of vents, I miss the small vent windows in front of the side windows. As to the floor dimmer, I don't miss it because I seldom can use high beams anyway.

Those small side vent windows was a car thiefs dream... one of the main reason they were eliminated, besides the drag they caused...but they were cool.

As long as we're venting on cars...some newer cars headlights are too damn bright for oncoming traffic, without their brights on.

And those lights that sorta look blue -ish...don't like looking at them oncoming either.

Why...back in the old days.....

They should put em back on the floor, I keep getting my foot caught in the steering wheel.

( old joke, I know it )

Those HID, high intensity discharge, w/ Xenon gas have a different look, for sure, but from this driver's perspective, are great. Sure beat the old sealed beam units.

Now what I hate is the check engine light. They should just be honest and call them "go and give dealer $500 lights." Generally, they are emissions related, so it's usually not critical. And a loose gas cap will often trigger them, so ck that first.

Why do bands put out music DVDs in Dolby instead of DTS

5 times the compression makes for sucky music

Why can't you just get into a car and drive without all the fancy gadgets? I don't know how to work the buttons on the steering wheel and while I'm driving I don't have time to figure them all out....put a knob for the radio, a knob for the airconditioner and heater, the dimmer on the floor and leave them alone.....I don't want to know where I'm going, if I'm there and whether or not I'm about to hit something from behind....Johnny's scream is plenty of warning.

Why do people think that shaving armpits and legs will make a person smell better? It is a myth, I tell you, a myth!! Bathing makes a person smell better. Soap, people, soap!

I don't shave my armpits or legs and I smell great! Just ask me, I'll tell you!

You better stop, Ellen. You might be turning some of us on.

I had a hippie friend in Austin who explained that the reason women started shaving various parts of their body was because of lice in the old days. She said she didn't have lice, nor was she worried about getting them, so she saw no need to shave. Made sense to me.

Smearing chemicals under your armpits to mask your natural odor is another thing. I've been experimenting, and I've found a good shower every day (which I take anyway) keeps me smelling fine, without the chemicals.

As for the cars, all the features they add are just more things to tear up, IMO.

I flipped my brights on driving back to California, and realized that was the first time I'd had them on since I got to New Orleans. You don't need brights in the city.

I like the dimmer switch on the floor, too. I had a 1964 Ford Galaxie that had once been a State Patrol car. It had two switches on the floor, and I was told one of them had once been the siren switch.

Daytimes save lives, must be a bad thing. And while were at it Helmet Laws Suck

I hate driving in the states where most don't have daytimes. Makes driving a lot safer especially on foggy days here on the Wet coast.

you can use the "salt block" type... the smell doesn't come directly from you... but from the bacteria that feed on sweat... using the salt type (the salt is too big to be absorbed through the skin) makes it so the bacteria can't survive...

a small percentage of people find that their bacteria adjust and it doesn't work as well as it did at first... but I've been using a single $5 block I got over two years ago and it barely looks used. you just wet the block and rub it on... no smell and no staining of clothes...

A smear of alcohol works real well and it's real cheap.

And what about the folks that run through "red lights" like their life is more important than anyone else. I see it everyday...and some of those people have time to stop and just speed up. I wonder how many die because of that.

There is this Red Light in Dunwoody, close to my Mom's house...people will honk at you...wanting you to turn LEFT on a red light...happens all the time...I never do it.

And those folks who walk around in the Grocery store, talking loud on their cell phone. This Brother was in the store the other day....going into detail with some lady on the phone about how great of a lover he was....you could hear him all the way down the aisle... Women were freaking out.
