AMEN Brother

Isn't it a pity
Now, isn't it a shame
How we break each other's hearts
And cause each other pain
How we take each other's love
Without thinking anymore
Forgetting to give back
Isn't it a pity

Some things take so long
But how do I explain
When not too many people
Can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity

Isn't it a pity
Isn't is a shame
How we break each other's hearts
And cause each other pain
How we take each other's love
Without thinking anymore
Forgetting to give back
Isn't it a pity

Forgetting to give back
Isn't it a pity
Forgetting to give back
Now, isn't it a pity

(6 times, fade the 6th
What a pity
What a pity, pity, pity
What a pity
What a pity, pity, pity

Kinda fittng given the crap going on here lately.

Sunrise doesn't last all morning
A cloudburst doesn't last all day
Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning
It's not always going to be this grey

All things must pass
All things must pass away

Sunset doesn't last all evening
A mind can blow those clouds away
After all this, my love is up and must be leaving
It's not always going to be this grey

All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
None of life's strings can last
So, I must be on my way
And face another day

Now the darkness only stays the night-time
In the morning it will fade away
Daylight is good at arriving at the right time
It's not always going to be this grey

All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
All things must pass away

I miss George, too. I was just explaining The Traveling Wilburys to my 16 year old when we saw a clip of Roy Orbison performing on The Johnny Cash Show on GPTV. Told her how Roy had met The Beatles and how he and George had become friends, and later musical collaborators in the Wilburys. I loved George in The Wilburys.

RIP George

Day turned black, sky ripped apart
Rained for a year 'til it dampened my heart
Cracks and leaks
The floorboards caught rot
About to go down
I had almost forgot.

All I got to do is to love you
All I got to be is, be happy
All it's got to take is some warmth to make it
Blow Away, Blow Away, Blow Away.

Sky cleared up, day turned to bright
Closing both eyes now the head filled with light
Hard to remember what a state I was in
Instant amnesia
Yang to the Yin.

All I got to do is to love you
All I got to be is, be happy
All it's got to take is some warmth to make it
Blow Away, Blow Away, Blow Away.

Wind blew in, cloud was dispersed
Rainbows appearing, the pressures were burst
Breezes a-singing, now feeling good
The moment had passed
Like I knew that it should.

All I got to do is to love you
All I got to be is, be happy
All it's got to take is some warmth to make it
Blow Away, Blow Away, Blow Away.

What Is Life

What I feel, I can't say
But my love is there for you anytime of day
But if it's not love that you need
Then I'll try my best to make everything succeed

Tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side

What I know, I can do
If I give my love now to everyone like you
But if it's not love that you need
Then I'll try my best to make ev'rything succeed

Tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side
Tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side

What I feel, I can't say
But my love is there for you any time of day
But if it's not love that you need
Then I'll try my best to make everything succeed

Tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side
Oh tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side

What is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side

Oh tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me who am I without you by my side

. . . . . George, always my favorite Beatle

jody and i met a gentleman from liverpool on saturday at the b.b. king's beatles brunch. he had not only met george, but played table tennis with him when he would go to visit his parents at the hospital they were in just prior to their deaths. they died within two weeks of eachother and "My Sweet Lord" was written as a result. the man was fascinating to talk to. he had been to the cavern club shows and he had some great stories to tell. it totally added to our beatles experience.

R.I.P. George, you are sadly missed.

When I first saw this thread I thought of this song too. I wasn't really a big Beatle/Harrison fan until I purchased the The Traveling Wilburys off Itunes. Itunes also included about 4-5 videos and a documentary about the making of the album. That was very interesting how these musical giants got together. Amazing how all the songs were written so quickly. If you get a chance you ought to check out the documentary.

I became more interested in all the musicians involved with the TWB's. Very bittersweet too, losing two of the members of the band, Roy during the creation of and George afterward its completion. They left us some great songs. Susie and myself sat there watching these videos with a couple tears in our eyes thinking this stuff is so great. Very powerful..............

Since all of this which was about 4 months ago, I have gotten into alot more Dylan, Beatle, ELO, TP, and Harrison stuff, where before, I wasn't as attracted to their music as much

RIP GEORGE
RIP ROY

You did make a difference................

Thanks for the beautiful music and for all the smiles, George. Was lucky to see George during his Dark Horse tour and hear the lovely and haunting While My Guitar Gently Weeps live...I always get chills from that song. Concert for Bangledesh is one of my all time favorite music videos...this all from the quiet Beatle, George.

One of the concert highlights of my life was seeing George at Nassau Colisium with Tom Scott and the LA express , along with Ravi Shanker. They played together, and seperately. George had a bad throat but gave it his all.
It was magical.
Anyone else see that show?
Ahhh...All Things Must Pass.

RIP George , one of the good guys .

Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover,
Something in the way she woos me.
I don't want to leave her now,
You know I believe and how.
Somewhere in her smile she knows
That I don't need no other lover.
Something in her style that shows me.
I don't want to leave her now,
You know I believe and how.
You're asking me will my love grow,
I don't know, I don't know.
You stick around now it may show,
I don't know, I don't know.
Something in the way she knows
And all I have to do is think of her,
Something in the things she shows me.
I don't want to leave her now,
You know I believe and how.

I saw him in 1974 during the Dark Horse tour (believe that was his only solo US jaunt) and he had Ravi Shankar and Friends with him. And yes - it was magical.

All Things Must Pass is one of the best albums by anyone, former Beatle or not.
