As many of you remember, I did this last year and it worked out GREAT! I started it last year because I had found out about a friend with a family on this site who was having some struggles around the holidays so I helped out where I could. Then I thought the match up of givers/receivers would work well for others who may be in need too. A lot of families were extremely thankful for the help and a lot of people who helped were given the gift of the unexplainable feeling you get when you help someone just because!

Here is how it works:
You can send me a PM with the title as "give" or as "receive". I match up the two as the PM's come in and receivers can stay unknown as well as the givers if they wish. No one knows who any of you are except for me. You can also use the email link under my post to email if you wish.

RECEIVERS:
Just PM/email how many are in your family boy/girl and ages and your address. Then I match you up with a giver.

GIVERS:
Just PM/email me that you want to be a giver and I will PM/email you back the family info. Usually it is just addressed to "Family" and their mailing address.

If there are any questions please post them or feel free to send me a PM/email.

Beautiful gesture and the way I have always looked at this community. A different breed altogether and the world would be better if there were more of all of you.

True meaning of Christmas. Bless you.

Question - I won't be back in the USA until Dec 21...can I mail my gifts on or after that day? Also, is there a limit I can request (I'm a college student after all, so I can't spend too much money on the gifts...but I would like to participate)?

To answer some questions...

Last year gift cards worked best for many of the givers in what ever amount they wanted to send. There are Targets and Walmarts everywhere so that was easy.
For some of the givers, they had specific info about kids ages and shopped for that age as well as wrapped and ribboned.

I pass along whatever info I get and it is really up to you what you can afford to do, and not many receivers were asking for anything specific, they were just happy to be able to have the help from their friends here. By doing the exchange this way, everyone stays anonymous except to me and I don't tell.

No time lines either as long as it makes it where you want it by 12/25/07.

One more note, I am HAPPY to say that the first giver this year was a receiver from last year!

Thanks everyone! I will start up the matching later this afternoon.

Please, if you need a little extra cheer this holiday season, let me know!

Haha sure thing Peter...just make sure you're here on time! The Alhambra tickets have a strict 30-min window for visiting the Nasrid Palaces.

Bumping the topic back to page 1. Lots of givers and just a couple of receivers so far. That is a good thing though!

I have been online for awhile now and I just did a bunch of match ups! If you didn't hear back from me yet, you will soon.

Thanks so very much to everyone pitching in on this! Everyone has been so awesome about it and everything is going great!

I think I will type out "private messages" instead of "pm's" next time too....
