I got home a couple of hours ago with the Crossroads Festival 2007 DVD set.

I have to admit I cheated and jumped straight to the bonus disc (hate the marketer, love the music). "Got To Get Better In A Little While" is amazing, The "Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad" just completely blows you away. Derek is featured on "WDLGTBSS", it is incredible. The bonus disc is worth the price of the set.

Then I jumped to the EC Band set and the EC with Winwood set. I'm really hoping that this is the same band they use at the MSG shows - wow.

I've still got a DVD and a half to watch, but have to say that if just the EC Band with guests set had been put out by itself, it would have been Clapton's best video release IMO.

I picked it up at best buy....

Target had a bonus disc as well, but it was two different songs... since I have the full show from the webcast I was MUCH more interested in getting the two songs from Best Buy... the ones from Target were "Cowboy Up" by Vince Gill and something else... possibly by Vince as well...

personally I recommend getting it from Best Buy (even though I hate those big chains) just for WDLGTBSS and Got To Get Better

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse! Now I hear that the "Best Buy" version is different from the "Target" version!!!! I live in Japan, so I asked my Dad to grab me one at either store. I then saw the above thread that mentions that, the two extra Clapton songs are on the "Best Buy" version! So I called my Dad, but he bought the DVD at "Target"!!!!! So I had to explain it again to him & send him back to buy it again at "Best Buy" I friggin hate these 2 stores, or Clapton for doing this! I cannot believe that their isn't just one version that everybody can buy. The DVD goes on sale in Japan on December 5th..so you never know what will be on that version, I may end up with 3 different versions!!! What a hassle, but I know it's worth it. (wink)

Who the hell wants the 2 extra Vince Gill songs instead of "Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad" & "Got to Get Better in a Little While" !@!!

Go figure - Vince Gill - what an odd choice!

I went out early yesterday and got my copy (and 2 others for EC fans in Europe who couldn't get the Best Buy disc). I have to say that, although I am grateful that WDLGTBSS was on the bonus, I was shocked to find that you can't even hear EC's guitar in the mix halfway through the song. Odd, too, that they mixed up two of the tracks on the 2nd DVD, And no, in case some of you are wondering, they did not show Bill Murray introducing "Darryl Trucks"! Although he was rocking out pretty hard on the side of the stage during Derek's set.

So, warning to all of you that have the webcast -- you'll probably want to hold onto it as the sound is better on a few songs, and the camera angles are different/better at times.

That being said, this was a HISTORIC performance. Highlights for me are "Little By Little" with Susan and Derek and "Anyday" - they show EC singing along on the side of the stage, John Mayer talking about how people on the message boards can duke it out as to whether he deserves to be there or not (he doesn't IMHO) and BB King talking about what a great person EC is. Not to mention Johnny Winter, Steve Winwood -- DAMN! The whole show was that damn good!

Watching it again, I was really struck with how grateful I am to have experienced it live, to EC for bringing all these amazing musicians together, and it reminded on this Thanksgiving eve of the power and potential of great music to unify people.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

the sound is definitely masterd to hear just certain instruments (per song)... they are entire songs where they mixed down some folks so you can't hear them at all... I wouldn't say the webcast is "better" audio... but more evenly mixed for some songs.

I think eric turned down his guitar and thats why it's so low during some passages...

I bought a copy yesterday from Best Buy, and I think that this is one of the best Clapton DVDs out there. I've watched the whole thing now, and I'm pretty blown away by the sound quality and by the video footage. I really like how the camera angles and certain scenes captured a lot of backstage footage. For nearly every song that Clapton doesn't play on, he's in the background jamming away (with Bill Murray usually, or with his wife Melia). During songs from the Clapton set they cut to Robbie Robertson or Winwood warming up, which I thought was neat to see. There's a great shot where, during BB King's heartfelt dedication to Clapton, the camera cuts to Derek and Susan watching with all smiles.

I think every song on here is great (with the exception of Doyle's stuff, but that's just me...). It's actually pretty hard for me to pick out highlights because I enjoyed watching all of them. Sure, people who were there will always say that they left out key songs (Jeff Beck's A Day in the Life), but I guess for the rest of us, we can't really miss what we don't know. What 'is' on the concert is fantastic and I have no complaints. Since this appears to be the only DVD release featuring the Clapton band from last year, we can't really complain. This is definitely a gem and beats all the youtube videos I was watching last year of the concerts!

The bonus dvd is weird. For some reason they've decided to call Got to get better in a little while "Things Get Better (Got To Get Better)." Also, Clapton's guitar is definitely not miked properly at the end of WDLGTBSS. I feel like this could have been one of the reasons certain songs were cut - because they came out crappy for some reason, but they figure that die hard fans won't care, so they'll throw it on the limited release bonus disc. Most important thing is that Derek's volume sounds great on that song! One more weird thing is that the back cover says that the setlist is Tell The Truth, Isn't it a Pity, and Little Queen of Spades. It is really Tell The Truth, Little Queen of Spades, and Isn't it a Pity. Obviously not a big deal at all, just kind of a weird mistake.

I love the shot of Clapton during the DTB version of "Anyday". He's on the side of the stage singing along (no mike or anything) with Susan and Mike, just like we might in our cars.

Ditto on all the previous recommendations for this DVD! I just watched through both discs and the bonus tracks. Production on this is much better than the first Crossroads, IMHO. Thre's just enough of a "documentary" feel to this that is comes across as a document of the festival instead of just a collection of performances.

My only wish was that they had included all of Jeff Beck's performance. If anyone was deserving of that honor, he was.

As much as I don't want to get out in the retail mess tomorrow, I'll be going to Best Buy tomorrow am because it's showing sold out online.

You just answered the question I was going to ask. To me it sounds like the musicial performances such as artist and setlist outshines the first one. My neighbor bought the first one I watched it but got kind of bored with parts of it so I never did purchase it. This one sounds like a keeper.

I just ordered it online from BB and got no indication of it being sold out, Brock. It should be here in about a week.
