Being the old (very old) investigative reporter i am, i took the news of Gregg calling off his holiday gigs as perhaps a hint that it might have something to do with his rumored health problem. Since the December New Bedford, Mass gig has been now set for mid April, i thought i'd lob an email their way innocently inquiring why there is a five month gap in rescheduling the show?! You never know what a simple question can bring.

The response came today from the venue:

"Due to our schedule and his RECUPERATION, the soonest date available was April 18th. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Coupled with Warren being quoted in another thread as saying the beacon run "will take place" but probably later rather than sooner, it would seem Gregg's health concerns may be of a serious nature. i will leave this to all of you to sort out here. Gregg is certainly entitled to his privacy, but i would think those who believe in prayer or positive thinking would want to direct some of that towards him at this time.

Well...I tried to keep the cat in the bag, but it's out now. He always has my love and prayers.

Prayers for the whole bunch....band members, past and present, roadies, business people---everybody connected with the band. Many have lead the rock and roll lifestyle, starting to get some miles on them. Too many have fallen already. God bless them all in health, peace, wisdom. Get well soon, Gregg....you got a lot of people pulling for you, supporting you. Same for the rest.

I'm sworn to secrecy.

I wish nothing but the best for Gregg. Get rested, get well, but most of all, get back behind the B-3 as soon as you can!

And what are we all going to do to celebrate Gregg's impending 60th birthday??

Sending love and prayers to Gregg, always. I know, in my heart, he will recover and be back with us.

Oh yes Gregory's Angels have something special planned.

"The mountains I have climbed would've killed a thousand men..."
That's not bragging, purely autobiographical -- like MikeBremer says, Gregg is one tough ol' road warrior -- he's handled everything else life could throw at him, this is another mountain to climb -- hey, he sings it elsewhere too -- Everyone Has A Mountain To Climb," right?
Hopefully Gregg knows how much we love him & that it's all about the love for Brother Gregory Allman -- who's given us years of bliss with his soul & voice -- all the best, bro
