Not a traditional treat, but in my family it is. We get together and make Italian sausage right around Christmas, drinking and taking turns stuffing the casings, then feast on it that night, and freeze a bunch so everybody leaves w/ a few lbs of the sausage to eat during the year. Served on Italian bread, garnished w sauteed green peppers and onions, molto bene!

I love egg nog, the kind without alcohol. Yummy, and sugar Christmas cookies.

I also love this seasonal treat.

Chocolate covered Cherries........or Blue Bells Choc. Covered Cherry Ice Cream.

Some good Christmas tree smelling weed...although I have not been able to smoke one in almost 2 months....makes the anxiety worse....I miss my weed.

Those little Sausage balls you make for breakfast.

Japanese Fruit Cake....but now Grandma is gone..and so are her great cakes.

My Mom's cole slaw with apple slices in it......also her Milky Way cake.

And I love stuffing or dressing..with some gravy.

My homemade fudge (dark chocolate fudge) that I make once a year at Christmas.
Everybody loves it and I get calls around the holidays, "are you making your fudge this year? Can I have some?"

I'll be over right after Christmas to get rid of that for ya Rusty...

Seriously, I will. No OK,then my favourite was the almonds my father always made when we were kids. He'd grill them in an electric fry pan in butter until they were cooked then sprinkle some salt on them and hide them from us. Then he'd dole them out over the holidays cuz we would have eaten all of them before Christmas if we could.

Monkey Bread hot out of the oven on Christmas morning with a cup of French roast. (Monkey Bread is a gooey, carmel-pecan-cinnamon, baked roll kind of thing that is sort of tradition in my family.)
Soup day with my seafood gumbo and some dirty rice.
Pecan sandies.
And whatever's cooking at Rusty's house.

Cresent rolls.

I eat about 10 of them every T-giving and X-mas. I always wonder...why don't I eat these things year round? Maybe they taste so good because I only eat them twice a year.

Monkey bread on Christmas morning is delicious!

I also love my grandma's poundcake...amazing

Ditto on the chocolate-covered cherries

I love Christmas trees too - my roommates back home tell me that they're going to have a Christmas tree waiting when I get back, decorated with nothing but special buds...

It's bound to be a treat!
