The incredible lineup for the 6th annual Langerado Music Festival has been announced! Featuring a variety of artists, including R.E.M., Beastie Boys, Phil Lesh & Friends, 311, Matisyahu, Ani DiFranco, Thievery Corporation, the Roots, Gov’t Mule, Umphrey’s McGee, Disco Biscuits, Keller Williams, Medeski Martin Wood & Scofield and 80 additional acts spread across 5 stages, this is a NOT to miss event! Taking place on the Big Cypress Reservation, expect a weekend full of non-stop entertainment as they relocate to a new location for four days of the best live music on Earth, in one of the most unique and special places in the country, the Florida Everglades.

Oh man, with my brothers condo just a few miles from there in Naples...this is extemely tempting!!! Anyone thinking of going to this???

Yes I am!! I don't think I'll go for the four days though. I'll be down in the area and go whichever days the line-up really appeals to me! I don't see a list of which bands on each given day. Here's the list of all performers..

THE 2008 LANGERADO LINE-UP Beastie Boys • R.E.M. • Phil Lesh & Friends • 311 • Matisyahu • Thievery Corporation • The Roots • Gov't Mule • Ani DiFranco • Ben Folds • G. Love & Special Sauce • Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood • Built to Spill • The National • Les Claypool • Umphrey's McGee • The Disco Biscuits • Keller Williams • Mickey Hart Band • of Montreal • Robert Randolph & the Family Band • The Wailers • funky Meters • Citizen Cope • Antibalas • !!! • Dark Star Orchestra • Ozomatli • Sam Bush • Minus the Bear • Ghostland Observatory • Arrested Development • Blind Melon • Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars • The New Deal • Benevento Russo Duo • Perpetual Groove • Railroad Earth • Martin Sexton • The Avett Brothers • Grace Potter and the Nocturnals • The Walkmen • Dr. Dog • Indigenous • State Radio • Vampire Weekend • The Bad Plus • The Felice Brothers • Pelican • Yard Dogs Road Show • Brett Dennen • Earl Greyhound • The New Mastersounds • Dan Deacon • Josh Ritter • Pete Francis • Ryan Shaw • Blitzen Trapper • matt pond PA • The Dynamites feat. Charles Walker • Bassnectar • Balkan Beat Box • The Lee Boys • Shout Out Louds • Golem • The Wood Brothers • Busdriver • RAQ • Will Hoge • Spam Allstars • Phix • American Babies • The Heavy Pets • Backyard Tire Fire • The Postmarks • Steel Train • Hoots and Hellmouth • Jonah Smith • Pnuma Trio • Awesome New Republic • That 1 Guy • Trevor Hall • American Bang • School of Rock All-Stars •

I hate festivals. I think Wanee will be the only one I go to and if Mule plays 3 nights at Mt Jam, I'll do that too. 2 nights, I don't know. Seems lame to me to do that. Of course if Mt Jam can get someone of the caliber of Phil and Friends or RatDog then ok, I'd even go for the Vivino Beatles thing. The ABB would not interest me much due to the amount of times I see them other places through the year. Soul Stew, that would interest me.

Anyway, so if I have little enthusiasm for this or any other one, that's why. I just hate festivals especially when one gets a festi set list. If I was younger, I would have a different attitude about them.

I know it's not your thang Ang. I'm not overly into the Festival thing either. I liked Newport. Of coarse Wanee but not many others. The reason this Langerado appeals is the closeness to the condo in Naples. It makes sense for me to plan part of my winter escape there during that time. There's a home base for me!

Yeah I loved Newport.

So Langerado sounds like a good deal for you. Enjoy. Great line up.

I'm not into all festivals, but Mountain Jam is an exception. I have gone to all three and had a blast each time. I'm also hoping for three nights of Mule. I think we will probably get two though. Hopefully we get another great headliner for the third night like last year. I'm hoping for either the DTB or Soul Stew, but someone like Hot Tuna, Little Feat, or even Phil and Friends again would be great. I know Phil said he's keeping the current lineup together for at least a year and this lineup is quite good. Add Warren to the mix and it would again be a special show. The only thing is it got very crowded and the parking was a mess for Phil. But for those of us staying at Hunter Inn it isn't a problem as we could walk if we have to. Cab rides to and from the Mountain from Hunter Inn are about 6 bucks and worth it in the rain.

Unfortunetly, I will have to skip the hike to the summit. I have a chronic back that is surgically repaired and it is hard enough to manage the pain for three days at something like this, but it sounds like fun for everyone else.

Angela, I know the rain put a damper on things last year, but the Mule, Phil, and many other bands made the weekend worth it last year and I hope you will be attending. How would it look if the Mule's #1 supporter doesn't show for their very own festival. I think you will be kicking yourself in the butt by the middle of Saturday if you don't go. Book at the Hunter Inn and join the party!!!

Now that we know we've only got one day of Mule at Wanee and no other Mules dates other than MT JAM, I am really spinning thinking of going on the 9th!! I'm going to look into this.

I checked and Grace Potter is playing on the 9th too! Since I can't make it to Wanee I'm really tempted to go to Langerado!

I don't see Grace on the Wanee line up as of yet! I hope she does!

Heath, I was looking at flights. Of coarse the price is up right now but deals can be found. If you fly into FT Lauderdale then Spirit Airlines is offering some special but if I were to do this, I'd fly into FT Myers cause my brothers condo is in Naples. Still thinking but haven't made up my mind yet!

The fam and I will be down in that 'neck of the woods' that very weekend, and were hoping that Mule would be playing on ANY day but Sunday. We head back that day around noon, flying back home. So it's a bummer for us, but for you, Sue, I'm ecstatic! Have a great time!

Don't forget sunscreen!!!

I probably won't go to this. It would be nice if it was two days of Mule!! That would make me in for sure!! With Wanee and only one day of Mule is a tad different as I will be with all my friends!
