Here's a link to reviews of the Boston show on Oct. 30th. Sounds like the boys are getting better as the tour progresses. Sounds like this show was great:

Other print media reviews I've read have been consistenly saying this is the tour to see this year.

Also, while I don't believe it's "official" but word has leaked via the net that VH has added a Spring leg to the tour with an announcement forthcoming in the next week or two.

I believe they've already announced that the October St. Louis show will be rescheduled for March 30th. I believe it was postponed b/c DLR was sick. The show before that one apparently was a disaster b/c he could barely sing. I also think Roth's fragile voice is the reason there are no back-to-back dates on this tour.

I heard the show previous to Boston also was not as good as other shows. However, it's the only subpar show I've heard about. So far, all the others have been very good. If you read the reviews of the Boston show you'll note that even fans that were very suspect of this tour commented how pleasantly surprised they were at the quality of not only Roth's voice but Eddie's 180 degree turn around from the '04 tour. For a guy who seemed near death two years ago, he's made one hell of a come back. His style of playing and entertaining is pretty grueling on anyone, much less a 53 year old. And apparently the youngster is turning out to be a pretty damn good Bass player.....Not my words, just what I'm reading in fan an professional reviews....

I'm going to see them Tuesday night in Worcester. Will let you know. I'm hoping they live up to the hype -- tickets were expensive!

Check out this link regarding the VH show in Worchester, MA last night. Apparently, the boys blew the roof off the joint!

Yeah, the show was great. I'm so glad I went. Highlights for me were Atomic Punk, Mean Streets, Little Dreamer and Little Guitars.

Dave's voice was in great form and he's still the over-the-top ham he always was. Not to mention RIPPED! I wouldn't say Shreddie was at the top of his game, although he looked like he was having a blast. There were several times he missed the note. And maybe it's me, too -- I'm not really into his guitar playing like I was when I was 16. Still, it was great to hear all the classic VH tunes live.

Wolfgang seemed to fit in well. He had a Red Sox sticker on his bass and when they showed that up on the screen, the whole arena erupted. Dave actually admitted he forgot the words in Mean Street, which was pretty funny.

And the last thing I'll add is that this is probably the loudest show I have been to in years. Even with ear plugs!

Van Halen has added Houston to their tour. I sure hope they add Dallas eventually. Does anyone else think they will? Please send me a reply, thanks.

There's a great many rumours floating around that the tour is going to have a second leg added in the Spring. If they hit Houston, I'd imagine they'll add a date for the "Big D" as well. There's also some talk that they may have filmed the MSG performance from this week for a DVD to be released in the future.

I was at the MSG show Tuesday night, although I wouldn't call it the "must see " show of the year I thought it was very good. High energy all around. When DLR first came on with YRGM his voice didn't seem ready at all. But as the night wore on he got progressively better, and I thought he worked hard to do the best he could with what he had and really hit it at times. Once the show got going they were just cranking out hit after hit after hit non-stop. One observation I had was that these guys aren't just showing up and grabbing a paycheck - they are busting a$$ to give the crowd the best they can - and seem to be having a great time doing it.

MSG show was great. DLR, Alex, and Wolfie were top-notch. I don't think EVH will ever be able to play as quickly, cleanly, and precisely as he did 25 years ago, but he did a great job in NYC. Overall, great time.

Couple questions: What is the setlist now? The VHLinks showed the basic setlist for the pre-tour rehearsals, with a couple changes in the song-order, but I never saw what they were actually playing on the road. Any changes at all from night to night? Even just changing the order of the songs? Or has it been the exact same songs in the exact same order every night of the tour?

Also, is Eddie playing the mini-Wolfgang on Little Guitars? There was a picture of one, if not two, on his rack of guitars, but the only clip of that song on YouTube shows him playing the 'regular' new Fender Wolfgang. What's he playing on that song?
