I think it'll be my only chance to see him but I am phobic of Camden (NJ not ME). Is it as close to Camden as it seems on the map? Is it close to it in the sense that the Scottish Rite Aud is is in a bad area, **** ed up war zone, like the rest of Camden? I have my reasons, but if it is not at all Camden and is a nice place I'd be stoked, whereas if it was a ghetto torn up worn down place I'd likely pass.

Anyone going? Anyone been? Anyone know collingswood? Thanks.

I'll be there too - but I've never been in the area before, so can't say what it's like.

The Scottish Rite Aud is in a nice, quiet, residential area of Collingswood. I was there a few weeks ago to see Joe Bonamassa. Don't worry, you won't have to drive through downtown Camden to get to it. It's set back a little from the road, so keep a sharp eye out. There are signs, but no big neon lights or such.
While the theater is described as having a mezzanine and balcony, they're not above the floor level say like the Beacon. It's one floor in a half bowl shape with the sections divided by wide aisles. It holds around a thousand people.
I'll see you guys there.

But even mezzanine seats are great. Take a look at this seating chart. Again, all the seats are on the same level, no traditional balcony.

DEREK TRUCKS BAND COMES TO COLLINGSWOOD

(COLLINGSWOOD, NJ) -- THE DEREK TRUCKS BAND brings its progressive approach to roots music, blending rock, blues, jazz, and world music live in concert Thursday, November 8 at the Scottish Rite Auditorium in Collingswood, NJ, with special guest Ryan Shaw. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. This special event is part of the 2007 Fall & Winter Concert Series, presented by the Camden County Board of Freeholders and Collingswood Borough.

The chemistry between the band members in this ensemble is undeniable, a result of heavy touring and fearless improvisation. The Derek Trucks Band is known for their amazing live performances, led by Trucks' soaring guitar work, and backed by the impressive individual talents of this band. The Derek Trucks Band is supporting their 2006 release Songlines as well as their DVD release Songlines Live, providing further proof of the explosive power of this live juggernaut.

Just 28 years old, Trucks has forged a name for himself over the years as an innovative guitar virtuoso, fronting his namesake group since he was 11 years old. He is the youngest musician named in Rolling Stone's List of "The Top 100 Guitarists of All Time" as well as the cover of Rolling Stone's 2007 "New Guitar Gods" issue.

Trucks has continued to develop The Derek Trucks Band as his primary focus while taking on a number of other roles including a full time member of The Allman Brothers Band since 1999, sharing the stage with Eric Clapton as a featured soloist in his band for Clapton's 2006/2007 world tour and his most recent musical adventure combining forces with his wife and blues singer Susan Tedeschi as they lead an amazing ensemble side by side for the first time as one musical group, the Soul Stew Revival.

The Derek Trucks Band includes Derek Trucks on guitar, Kofi Burbridge on keyboard, Todd Smallie on bass, Yonrico Scott on drums, Count M'Butu on congas & percussion and Mike Mattison on lead vocals.

Not sure. But he's married to Susan Tedeschi, and if he's half as good as she is, he will be alright.

BTW Someone is selling a Bergen PAC single Row C Orchestra on eBay for $45...cheap:

Just heard that Collingswood is a "dry" town. Anyone know if there is anywhere nearby to catch a burger and beer pre-show? I would imagine they sell no alcoholic refreshment at the theatre?
Any help appreciated.
