If any of y'all decide to take up burglary, don't do it down here in "Bama! I saw this on the internet - this is cool!

MONTGOMERY, Ala. A burglar in Montgomery chose the wrong family to mess with, literally.

Adrian and Tiffany McKinnon returned to their Centennial Hill home Tuesday after a week away to find that thieves had emptied almost everything the family of five owned, Tiffany McKinnon said through tears.

"Tears just rolled down my face as I walked in and saw everything gone and piles of trash all over my home," she said.

Adrian McKinnon sent his wife to see her sister while he inspected the piles left behind. As he walked back into the sunroom, a man walked through the back door straight into him, Tiffany McKinnon told the Montgomery Advertiser in a story Thursday.

"My husband Adrian caught the thief red-handed in our home," she said. "And what is even crazier, the man even had my husband's hat sitting right on his head."

Adrian McKinnon held the suspect, 33-year-old Tajuan Bullock, at gunpoint and told him to sit on the floor until he decided what to do.

"We made this man clean up all the mess he made, piles of stuff, he had thrown out of my drawers and cabi-nets onto the floor," Tiffany McKinnon said.

When police arrived, Bullock complained about being forced to clean the home at gunpoint.

"This man had the nerve to raise sand about us making him clean up the mess he made in my house," she said. "The police officer laughed at him when he complained and said anybody else would have shot him dead."

Capt. Huey Thornton, a police spokesman, said police arrested Bullock at 2 p.m. Tuesday on burglary and theft charges. He was being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a $30,000 bond.

"The victims were lucky in this case to be able to catch the suspect in the act and hold him until police arrived," Thornton said.

He said the case was unusual because generally burglars act while the homeowner is away and are in and out fast so they can quickly sell the stolen items.

The couple said they chose to rent the Ross Street home because it was a quiet place for their three young children to play outside. Turns out it was a bit too quiet most of the homes near theirs are vacant.

"We don't have any neighbors to help watch our house because it's like a ghost town here except when the church is meeting across the street," Tiffany McKinnon told the Advertiser Wednesday.

Obviously recalls to mind the punk that tried to mug Jimmy Walker last year. People driving by his apartment over a week afterwards to look at the doo doo on the sidewalk where Jimmy literally beat it out of him. The score remains:

not so fast...if the homeowner's gun is legally registered, there's got to be something to charge him with if they dig hard enough. if he clears that hurdle, the perp will probably sue for damages and win.

I remember that story about Jimmy!

Years ago, a friend of mine was coming out of a club. When he and his date reached their car, they found two guys in the process of breaking into the vehicle. The two became aggressive and told my friend that if he didn't give them his wallet that they were going to kick his arse. My buddy responded by pulling out a concealed pistol and telling the two that if they didn't start beating the crap out of each other, he was going to shoot them both dead. I guess they believed him, because in no time at all these two thieves were dukin' it out with one another.

I guess the heat and humidity does effect your sense of humor.

If a person is in their own home, they are entitled to protect themselves how they see fit. In the south, you don't have to register your guns. You only need a conceal carry permit to carry one concealed. You can carry one unconcealed in public if you are crazy enough.

God, I love the south.

I Texas they pull the trigger

Dallas Man Shoots, Kills Second Burglar In 1 Month

CBS 11 News) DALLAS For the second time in one month, a business owner in west Dallas has shot and killed a burglary suspect.

The second fatal shooting occurred in the 2000 block of Chalk Hill Road.

Dallas police believe James Walton was sleeping when his burglar alarm sounded late Saturday night.

Police say he found two suspects at his business, Texas Allied Welding Supply. He shot and killed the first suspect, 37-year-old Jimmy Gannon.

The second suspect was also shot, but was not seriously injured.

According to investigators, the two suspects may have been looking for copper.

Robert Brown, one of Walton's neighbors, said he's proud of the shooting. He said it brings "a sense of pride of your neighborhood, taking care of your own. I like it."

Last month, Walton shot and killed Raul Laureles after he tried to break into his business.

"People have the right to defend their property and their own life," said Dallas Police Sergeant Andrew Harvey. "We'll refer to the grand jury and make sure they hear [the case]."

Walton was questioned by police, but was not arrested.

cool. i was just kidding about the fact that the authorites sometimes go after the innocent much more agressively than they do criminals. hopefully it's a myth, but i've always heard if the jerk's trying to kick your door in, and you shoot throught it and kill him, you're life's over because he wasn't in your house.

I can see that point if they shot and wounded him, but all they did was make him clean up his mess. I hope the judge publicly applauds them for making him do so.

...and brings to mind an old buddy of mine up in Kansas City, Bruce Calumpong.

Several hoodlems came across Bruce one night on a dark lonely downtown street back in 1995. They kind of harrased Bruce a little a asked for his money and Bruce politely asked them to please leave him alone and go away, it would be in their best interest.
They giggled at skinny little 5'6" Bruce. They attacked him....sort of. Bruce was fine, all hoodlems were taken away in ambulances.

Another "Score One for the Good Guys" story......a number of years back, Brothers Bar, Jacksonville, Ala. A rather stout friend stepped out while the band was on break, for a smoke. Noticed someone breaking into his car. Stayed cool, observed from the shadows. Followed the guy back into the club, then approached him like an old friend, offered his hand. As the guy shook his hand, he grabbed his two middle fingers, bent them back, grabbed the guy's collar with his other hand, marched him out the door and to the car. When he denied it all, my friend put more pressure on his fingers, he began emptying his pockets with his free hand, put the stuff he stole on top of the car. When he finished, my friend broke both fingers, told him to remember it the next time he was tempted to steal.

LOL - Love this story! They made him clean up the mess he had created (GOOD FOR THEM) and he had the balls to complain to the police (wussy ol thief).

Excellent use of a gun on both counts. Beautiful. But you're right, as the usual suspects will try and paint this in a bad light.

Great story,

I would had made him clean it up then shot him.

We had a couple robberies here in NC this week. Somebody robbed a KFC in Statesville NC and the gunman put the 22 rifle to the clerks head and pulled the trigger. Luckily, the shell didnt fire.
When the robber tried to pop another round in the chamber, the Clerk grabbed the gun. It was all on video. The Clerk, didnt let go of the gun. They tussled around quite a bit, til the cops got there.

Another robbery was in Denver NC. An off duty Fire Chief noticed a suspicious vehicle circling the parking lot at a CVS drug store. He pulled around behind the car after the 2 men jumped out and ran into the store. WHile waiting for them to come out, he called 911. Then all of a sudden another car rammed him from behind, which was another car part of the robbery being the look out. The man in the car that rammed him, yelled, get the hell out of here!!!
Then the two men came out of the CVS shooting at the Fire Chief. The Fire Chief, being armed fired back. The FC was shot twice in the leg, The FC ran into the store to check on the employees. They all were in the backroom shaking like a leaf on a tree. The robbers fled the scene. Minutes afterwards, one of the robbers was arrested.

It makes me sick, when violent criminals, get little time for robberies. Especially, when they have guns and dont use them. If they have a gun, THEY WILL USE IT. What is the difference???? They need to lock em up for life. Just because they didnt fire the weapon, doesnt mean they wont fire it during the next robbery they commit. Get them off the streets for good.

God, I love the south.

In NC you can protect your family or property if the intruder is in the house. You can shoot to kill. If they are out in the yard thats different. You cannot shoot to kill unless you are defending yourself. If the intruder is in the house and he doesnt know your in there with him. No warning is needed. You can fire away, without warning the intruder.
I know this sounds cruel, but its either you, your family, or the intruder.

In North Carolina

You do not need a license to carry a weapon that is NOT concealed in NC. You only need a permit to PURCHASE a "handgun" in NC. You do need a special permit in NC to carry a concealed handgun. To purchase a rifle or shotgun, they just do a background check. You fill out the application for the purchase and return the next day to receive the gun. You can walk down main street here in town with a handgun on your hip. No permit required. You just can not walk into a bank, school, government building, or a place that sells alcohol concealed or not concealed.
When in a vehicle the firearm must be out in the open, in plain sight. You cannot have a firearm tucked under the seat of your car unless you have a concealed permit. Otherwise, it must be in sight. Loaded or Unloaded........For rifles or shotguns, you can ride around with it hanging in your pickup window if you like. No permit is required to have one in your possession. No permit is required to possess a handgun either.

Now if you go in SC, its the opposite. The handgun must be concealed in a glove box or under the seat. It gets confusing doesnt it. Not sure about the purchase requirements.

I love the South too Big Dave.
