A strike? With the nonsense being shown on broadcast TV these days, a strike would be a blessing. Other than sports and news, I don't watch much of anything else, thank goodness for my music DVD's.

No one knows how long it will last, but the consensus is..it will happen for sure.
Many TV shows are shooting through and adding episodes to the scedule in just in case.
I was not in the film industry in '88, but I do remember it affecting many I knew at the time that were.

from what i read yesterday

the true reality market wont be affected

and the industry could do spinoffs from those series

and the writers may go into full length animation series

I'll second that, those were classics, although I never did know what Ozzie did for a living, if anything.

In 1952, the Nelsons starred with Rock Hudson in the feature film, Here Come the Nelsons. The film depicted Ozzie as an advertising executive assigned to a campaign promoting women's underwear. Here Come the Nelsons is the first, and only, instance that Ozzie Nelson's job is clearly stated. The film opened on February 23, 1952, little more than a week before the Nelsons' tv series premiered on ABC.

In 1969 ABC tried something new, two forty-five minute shows airing back-to-back from 7:30PM to 9:00PM. The New People was one of those shows. Cancelled after only seventeen episodes, the series has seen something of a resurgence in popularity recently due to ABC's current hit series Lost, which has a similar premise. Broadcast from September 1969 to January 1970 the series followed a group of college students as they fought to survive after being stranded on an island.
The New People

A short-lived drama that ran for a total of seventeen episodes, The New People is one of the few programs in the history of broadcast television to run for forty-five minutes, as opposed to typical thirty or sixty. Although the series was only on the air from September 1969 to January 1970 it managed to leave a remarkable impression on those who watched it.

Coupled with another forty-five minute series, The Music Scene, which aired before it, The New People made up part of a ninety-minute block on Monday nights. The Music Scene ran from 7:30PM until 8:15PM when The New People took over, running until 9:00PM. It aired opposite the last quarter of Gunsmoke and Here's Lucy on CBS and Rowan And Martin's Laugh-In on NBC.

Yeah, and let's go back to having only 4 channels.

I hate TV, although I do like the DirectTV NFL package.
