Thanks for the well wishes. These last couple of days have really pushed us pretty hard. Everything that needs to be done at the job I am leaving for a year (maybe just that long) is overwhelming. Then the Coast Guard calls with something else they need me to do yesterday. But we are getting through it. Myles seems upset at the idea of me being gone more than usual. But I think they will adjust pretty quickly. They have been brought up to roll with the punches.

The Coast Guard has a new computer system for Search & Rescue plotting called Rescue 21. I was one of five of the original people trained to use it about four years ago while active duty. I've been drilling since May at my old unit & using the system. So when they needed a trainer to hit every Group (Field Office) to train their communciations staff they picked me to do it. I will be in every major city where the Coast Guard has a presence. New York in December, New Orleans in January, etc. I will also be going to Guam, Alsaka, Hawaii & the Persian Gulf, which each of these will probably be pretty extensive trips away from home. As intersting as the last few sound I am not looking forward to them, as I know I will be very busy training the collective two thousand folks who need to learn how to run it.

On the road my plan is to keep a strict diet, run every day, & take my guitar with me for my spare time (yeah right). Oh yeah, and to see as many shows in as many cities as I can!
