I have so many pairs of boots it's difficult to find a matching pair on any given morning....have to sort them out the night before...classic brown Fryes with buckle, fringed knee hi, lace up mocs, black Lamas, pink suede low riise (I think those might qualify for Vaylorette status), high heel pointy toe black leather, high heel square toe black leather, ankle black suede yada yada yada. Just for the heck of it, somebody bought me an over the knee pair of black platform Victoria Secrets but I haven't had the nerve to wear em yet!

I prefer a simple pair of moderatly priced (Justin, Dan Post) black cowhide boots, with a leather sole that once wore out, can easily be re-soled with rubber. The black cowhide takes a beating, doesn't stain and doesn't require too much maintenance to keep looking good (useful at crowded concerts where people occasionly step on or spill beer on your feet, or if you're a guy, those nights when your aim isn't the best)

This thread has it all..well, almost! It's got fashion tips and boots for sale, name brands and personal anecdotes. It's even got a shower! Alls we need now are a few photographs including at least one shot of any of the Brother's boots, a couple of songs and maybe a boot-match (dot com!)

For hiking: Montrail (lightweight hiking boot - very comfortable), Timberline (heavier hiking boot), Merrell (low hiking boot), Columbia (waterproof hiking boot) I'm serious about my hiking boots

For dress: whatever is fashionable and comfortable - there are a bunch shoved into a basket in my closet - low heel, high heel, dress, casual, short, knee high...there is a pair of Clark's knee boots with a high heel and Bandolino ankle boots with high heels that I seem to wear the most if I'm not going casual.

And I have a vintage pair of cowboy boots that I never wear but can't part with due to sentimental reasons and a pair of Doc Martens that I wear a lot.

Matched S in the snake skin across the top of each foot.

Marge, I had a gentleman patient come in the office with a pair of Stingray cowboy boots! I never knew they made them like this and they were gorgeous. They have a shimmer/glisten to them. He said they were hand made to order. http://www.timsboots.com/giinmucobo.html
