I'm heading down to Asheville for Halloween and the 2 Charleston shows after that. Jimmy Herring is really starting to fire on all cylinders with these guys and I can hardly freakin' wait!!!

unfortunately I can't remember the last time they came anywhere near upstate NY. The new single is nice- love the horns. Jimmy has revitalized this band in a great way. Looking forward to a new studio album.

The horns add a special touch...kind of like with the "Soul Stew Revival" I have heard that Derek and Susan made an appearance for I believe last years Dec 30th show in Atlanta...That would make it extra, extra special!!

Horns, huh? This should make for something new and delicious. I'm seeing them tomorrow night!!! Can't wait! Love Jimmy Herring with these guys, too!

I dunno. Maybe I just don't get it. I caught my 1st Panic show at Radio City a few months ago. I was really enjoying a couple of recent soundboards someone gave me and was looking forward to the show. They came across as a high end bar band to me, lackluster in energy. That said, I thought Herring fits in very well with them, his playing was certainly a highlight. I thought the lead vocalists voice, while unique at first, becomes bothersome and monotonous after awhile.

I like most everything in the "jamband" scene (sheesh I hate that term) but Panic just didn't do it for me live. I still like the soundboards though oddly. Weird.

This may have been posted before, but here's a link to last year's Widespread Panic concert with Derek and Susan. Enjoy!

If you go to the Birmingham show, please be sure to check out the after show with the Mosier Brothers and David Blackmon at the Workplay theatre.

to me the shows at radio city this year were for the shows of the year....i thought widespread was on fire and jimmy herring was incredible....they have an enormous setist to choose from and play some great covers....all in all i think they are along with the allmans and the black crowes the best bands out there today...let me add phil lesh to that list as well
