In the end, all else pales in comparison. Don't waste your energy on the negative. Let that which is momentary go.

There are lots of good people here on this site, who time and again have shown a spirit of love and friendship, for which I am thankful.

May we all remember that the good here far outweighs the bad.

Just my .02 worth--and yes, I am preaching to myself.

Good advice.

Been playing with my son all day and I don't even know what game it is. Seems to work for him.

Besides working I take my oldest to and from school then to her job then to dance class. I catch every one of her performances. Then I take my younger one to soccer practice
4 aweek in 3 days for two teams. I also coach her softball and basketball team.
We (the x and I) never miss a game or a performance.
Time really flys you have to stop and take a step back every now and then, they grow so fast.

Life IS short. I am fortunate to have four beautiful, fabulous children. I grew up with my older two now 25 and 22. And although I was always a devoted mom and very attentive, I think I got even better with #'s 3 and 4 now 11 and 5 respectively. There is nothing in the world as magnificent as spending time with your children. Nothing. I am now at a point in my life where aside from work, it's my children 24/7. I rarely go anywhere without them and I could not be happier. They put me over the moon, period.

Last night, I was floored when, both Alexis and Natalie suddenly got down on bended knee, arms stretched up singing the "Sweater Song" from the Old Navy commercials now running on TV to my Aunt Denise. "Niecie" has just undergone three rounds of chemo, has lost all of her hair and is having major surgery next Wednesday. We are all a mess over this (Niecie seems to be handling it the best). But Natalie and Alexis, boy, they just wanted to sing to their little hearts out to their beloved great aunt. It was a sight to behold, a beautiful moment that I was honored and proud to witness. I don't know which was greater, the smile and joy on my aunt's face or the stream of tears running down my cheeks. My little darlings struck again.

Thanks for sharing that Jacquie - now I've got some tears on my cheeks, also. Sounds like you've got a couple of great kids in Alexis and Natalie and this is a testiment to you, sweetie! Your aunt is lucky to have you all to help her through this tough journey she finds herself on. (Am sending some thoughts and prayers to you all for comfort - we all can use some of this. )

And you are right - time spent with your children is never wasted. My son and nephew are now 30 with children of their own and they've been talking about this camping vacation they want to take their families on. When describing it I realized it's an exact duplicate of a trip my sister and I took these boy's on when they were around 9. For all the back-seat petty arguments ("I get the last slice of bologna this time - he got it last time" ) this was a great adventure and sweet memories were made and they now want to share that type of experience with their own families. It made me realize even more how much I savored similar memories of journies and experiences had with my own parents and sibs as a child. And the road goes on forever...

Good thread. Life is to short focusing on the bad things. Good positive attitude makes life much better. The hell with the "what If's"

You cant change the past but you sure can change the future. Dont let the past get you down. The future is bright for us all.......

I will relate to a round of golf. If you hit the first tee, feeling down, PO'ed, hardheaded, frustrated, stressed. You can expect a bad round.

Hit the first tee with a smile, loving the game, loving it all, this is easy, no sweat, things are great.
You will have the best round in your life.........
