Any thoughts on last night's show?

I had a good time but not the BEST Mule show I've ever seen.

They jammed an awful lot last night.

I thought the show was a classic start of tour Mule show, for real Mule fans. Lots of jamming, great playing by all and nice and long. I thought Warren was having a great time last nite. Love the sound he gets out of that Firebird and he played it more this time than I have seen before. His voice was solid (he opened the show with just his vocal for about two minutes). Matt's solo was extrodinary and as a drummer he continues to amaze as how effortless he makes it look. The band was very tight, considering it was the first show of the tour and all got to shine. Loved the fact they took a break and came back for another set. Long show, they started about 945 and played to 1100 took a half hour and played until 1230ish. I would put the show up there and loved every bit of it. I think some may have been disappointed that he didn't do any big covers and I noticed he teased some Zeppelin but that was all. Personaly, I am quite happy to hear his stuff and the new stuff by the way is real good live. I will be looking for a copy of the show as these are usually quite rare. I was having too much fun to keep track of the set list but I assume it will come up on Mule.net in the next couple of days. I would give it a 9/10 and wish I was hading to Cleveland tonight to check it out again. I also might suggest that getting to the gig early to see Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Pretty cool band. She has great pipes and is incredibly talented. A fine Wednesday night to say the least!

Did Warren do Southern Man with Grace Potter? That song alone was worth the price of admission this summer in Boston. I got a little video of it right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCElwxdBTKQ I'm seriously considering driving to Schenectady on Sunday to see them again.

Grace did not come up with the Mule last night. Me thinks the boys were working out the bugs (I sure didn't hear any) and there were no guests or covers, other than Play with Fire ( with a little Bob Marley in the middle). Great show!

Not surprised they're not doing it. Warren's a married man! There was just way too much heat on that duet.

Where is that video? I am looking for it.

Rumor has it that Grace and Warren jammed out on Find The Cost Of Freedom & Ohio tonight at the HOB. :-) I love Neil's music and Grace does too. I'm thrilled to hear her bring it to the Mule.

So, set those rumors to rest Marge. Warren and Grace were hot together in Boston, but certainly they were respectful of each other and where they be in life.

You know, I had this whole witty yet somewhat strident piece written in response to your post but didn't send it earlier today. I'm not sure people in the music business are any more or less at risk of infidelity than people in other businesses. But I knew you were basically kidding around so I didn't send it.

Did you ever read what I wrote a while back on why women aren't great lead guitarists like men are?

I don't think you did. :-) Now that is something you can put in your blog if you'd like. LOL. I even use some racy words in it. :-)

I'm wondering if it's Send You Back to Georgia. LOL. And it wasn't on the mule site a minute ago. Oh, maybe a song Bette Middler has done. Love Bette. Oh and BB has done something like that. I love when Mule does new songs so I can look them up.

Anyway, here's some photos from the HOB show.

When Warren started in with that scary-ass guitar solo during Southern Man, he was playing right to Grace. But then when she started to unravel, Warren backed away. (He knows his power!) I'm not trying to the stir the pot but I know what I saw.
I don't think it matters what a person looks like, whether they are married or not. If you play guitar like Warren, you could start a 5 alarm fire in three seconds flat.

Thanks for the reviews, I just relived the Wed night TO show. Love the Neil Young stuff. Going to see him at MasseyHhall here next month. I am guessing Grace rocked the house on those two tunes. Krishna, hope ya made it for the GPN set? I need to see it again and the Buffalo show looks like a good candidate. See y'all there!

TO show had one of the best drums for sure. Love the way Matt can make the body hummmm

They got pretty jazzy in a few spots too.

Great crowd also. Never have a worry there. And how refreshing that there is no line for the ladies room

Happy Thanksgiving to us Canucks!

Wow. Interesting posts. I have testified to Warren's power, in fact it has driven me insane, driving thousands of miles with a head full of ideas and weeks of tormented dreams. It's not nice to fling that stuff out carelessly...... Now he's in my home state, surrounded by the trees that love me, while I am thousands of miles away, which I did purposely because I didn't want to torture myself again and feel the empty hole in my soul. This energy has to find it's proper home. This desire has me in bondage. He is a stranger. He is married. Even still, he should have great chemistry with a talented woman on stage. May all of us find happiness in this life. Feeling a longing like I do is hell.
